I have Toyota Passo 2009 model. The meter is showing everything except the fuel average. When it comes to fuel average it shows blank and there is no reading on it. I unplug the battery, changed the meter too but the problem is same. The electricians says perhaps it does not show the fuel average but I saw many same models that shows fuel average on the meter. Can anybody guide about the suspected problem and refer an electrician in Lahore? Thanks.

Roundtrip Hyd-Suk. Speeds between 90-110 mostly. Didnt drive like a granny, continuous overtakings. Could have easily got 23-24 kmpl if I kept a light foot. Why buy a 660cc underpowered car?

My car is driven almost 160k kms and I am not even sure if this is the actual mileage or the meter is tempered. I am seriously impressed with Passo.

Passo Hana 2012 with 185/60R15 tyres

I have used Total Quartz 9000 5W30 (switched from 0W20 Zic last time) and oil reduction problem not resolved. 1.2 Litre after 2000KM reduced with 5w30. Moreover, it has a high RPM (1800 at 60kph) and have noise too. Its pick from 20kph onwards is too low. So far, I have cleaned fuel injectors, throttle body, changed all spark plugs, cleaned PCV valve (valve had rattling sound so not replaced). Someone here suggested earlier to check MAP/MAF sensors but I dont know where these exactly are in the engine bay. Please suggest what to do to improve car health?? Could the transmission oil be the culprit? (Not changed oil and its 106020 on oddo).

It is usually recommended to replace CVT oil after every 60-80,000 Kms. If it hasn't been replaced yet, I would strongly suggest to replace it (although it has no direct relation with the issues which you have mentioned).

Besides oil consumption, is there any smoke from the exhaust? Blue, white, or black colored?

If 5w-30 is not suiting, you may try switching to 10w-30 by Caltex / Havoline, and then 10w-40 by ZIC (if 10w-30 also does not suit), but again, these may be temporary solutions. Exact solution can only be sorted out by looking at engine's health; compression test being the most important test. Then condition of rings, pistons, etc. Also does matter.

Try replacing air filter too, if not done yet, and use genuine air filter. Try replacing PCV valve with brand new one, instead of cleaning it. Also get Catalytic Converter checked and serviced (if clogged).

Try removing one of the terminals of car's battery for about half an hour, and reconnet and do idle learning procedure. May be, the issue gets resolved.

No smoke at all. Infact, it throws water in the morning. How to perform compression test? What is it called in local mechanic's language? Will switch to 10W30 next time. Air filters genuine and running for last 6K only. ECU keeps giving error of "CAT CONVERTER BANK1 efficiency below threshold" whenever I continue running between 60kph to 80 kph (no error occurs below or above this limit). I have got it cleaned (once with Acid then after 20k with water&air). Replaced both sensors at 92,000 oddo reading (and now it is 106k)
Will do battery terminal removal technique and give results here.

That's why I had already mentioned in my post above, to get your catalytic converter thoroughly inspected and checked. If it requires servicing, do it, if it requires replacement, replace it. Also check oxygen sensor. If it requires replacement, replace it.

Rest, why it specifically happens between 60-80 kmph speed, experts can guide best.

Extremely bad choice. Never, ever do it again by this way. Proficar and Liqui Moly Cat Conv Cleaners are much better choices, use them instead of acid. It is NOT the fully loaded model btw that honour goes to the hana+ 1.0,i need more info on your model to check its varient,for example does it have smart entry,two tone interior?

I would strongly suggest to prefer Liqui Moly. It is more effective in case of JDMs, then Proficar. If it does not do well, or jaali of Cat Conv. is broken, then you will have to replace it.

In junkyards, it will cost somewhere around 7-9,000 PKR, depending on condition.

I am totally new to imported cars, yes it has two tone interior, I heard about Hana and later moda but I do not know specific details of difference...

what I found in it was Climate control AC instead of knobbs and fan controls, sofa type seats instad of skinny ones, larger wheels, the engine bay plate has 1KR-FE engine side mirrors have indicators...

The AC is an automatic climate control unit,you press auto button and it will configure the temperature itself,judging from your description it must be the kutsorugi package,as if has all hana features except projecter lamps and 2 tone exterior and smart entry.

fake spark plugs can also choke cat.(all those 1100rs per plug are fake actually) Engine burning oil can clog as well. detailed diagnostic is required here. Fuel trims and such. Cat cleaners which require mixing in fuel are not much effective, infact they can dislodge deposits in fuel tank and block injectors or mess with fuel pump.
Throwing water in morning isnt an indication of engine health,its just a myth made by local mechanics.
