Toyota passo mobil oil

Aoa dear pakwheelers. Need suggestion
I have a toyota passo 2013 model, 1kr-fe, 108000kms driven, which was previously on 20w50 engine oil. As i bought it, i switched to 10w40 by zic initially, performance and fuel average improved.
Upon the next oil change, i switched to 10w30 by caltex, and currently have used it for 4000kms on this grade, but noticed oil reduction after approx.3000kms and currently this is the oil status given in the picture.
I am noticing a further slight decrease in oil level. No issue regarding performance etc.
Please help me regarding next step whether to top up or revert to previous grade as next oil change is due after further 1000kms !

@Xulfiqar bhai in a previous thread you mentioned that these oil levels are fine. But after driving it for the next 200kms, i noticed further slight decrease in oil level on the gauge. So if you could guide would be thankful...

I have read your concerns, and can say that this much oil reduction is fine, and nothing to worry about IMO (in my opinion).

Simply top it up, and change engine oil + oil filter , only after it has clocked 5,000 Kms / 06 months, whichever comes 1st.

If on ZIC A 10w-40 fully synthetic, there was no oil consumption, or comparatively less oil consumption, and you were comfortable with it, then from next oil change, you can switch back to 10w-40, however, IMO, 10w-30 by Caltex / Havoline is also fine.

Again, let me start from myself:

My current ride is now ~14 years old and clocked genuine ~95,250 Kms on odo. I myself am facing oil reduction issues, despite the fact that engine is as strong as a fully grown horse MA SHA ALLAH, and pick, power, fuel efficiency, etc. are all fine. No smoke from the exhaust at any rpms.

Last time after driving for around ~2800-2900 Kms from last oil change, oil level had came on almost half on dipstick, and I topped up by pouring in 2L same engine oil (it takes 4.5L from oil + oil filter change). After that it came on the max. point.

The oil used was Total 5w-30 fully synthetic.

My point is: We need to understand that oil consumption is there in engines, and is normal.

Regarding how much consumption is there, less, more, etc. its another debatable topic.

Even in some car's owners / users manuals, its mentioned that oil consumption can be as high as 1L / 1,000 Kms driving, so if this is the criteria, your's car and my car both seem fine.

Well. On previous oil i.e zic 10w40, i am a little skeptical and can't give a final verdict as i had changed the oil prior to its actual drain interval i.e it was changed on 3500kms.
With the current oil i.e 10w30 caltex havoline which comes in semi synthetic, its doing fine regarding performance and fuel average. But just need to know that should i continue with this grade ?
Also if i am topping up the current grade, how much quantity should be added further ?
Regarding oil filter, i usually go for a genuine toyota filter always

Same is the scenario with me basit bhai. After approx. 3000kms, it started eating oil, currently it has done 4100kms, and dipstick levels at mid point of the highest and lowest level as shown in pic above as an example. Oil change is due at 5000.

Kindly recheck. As far as I know, its pure mineral oil, instead of semi synthetic.

Please add in small quantities, like intervals of 200 ml. When oil touches the max. mark on dipstick, stop pouring it.

I think your car's engine will take around 600-800 ml of engine oil.

Then it means that oil is behaving very fine.

Please continue using 10w-30 by Caltex / Havoline.

1kr-fe,

the engine model is notorious for oil consumption., type 1KR-FE in top right search glass and go through threads.

never use any engine lubricant above 5W-30 in this engine

Yes it is a noty engine just worned out due to non following of engine oil viscosities and poor oil qualities.
So the above engine is fine until it starts to clog the cat conv badly randomly. So when its too much bad fuel economy or conpromised economy and pickup go for the rebuild.

The oil consumption isnt that much, continue using 10w30, keep drain interval at 5000km, and monitor oil level after every 500kms.As long level is above mid mark,you are fine. Top up amount as required to bring level to max mark, take care not to measure immediately after adding oil. Probably it wud require 500~700ml. Using thick oil would only mask oil consumption but accelerate the engine towards failure

@nomi01 I switched to this oil grade after going through several threads on pakwheels and went for a gradual change stepwise, as the previous owner of the car had ruined it on 20w50 for almost 2years. When i bought the car recently, instantly switched it to 10w40 in the first go, and then again to 10w30 in the next one. Currently its on 10w30, and was planning to switch to 5w30 in the next interval. But the oil levels shown above in the picture made me a bit skeptical.

Brother, regarding the fuel average, it is giving me 12-12.5km/L in locals without ac and 14.5 to 15km/L on long route. Tuning done, engine oil grade is the one mentioned above, oil is fine quality wise p.s i use a genuine toyota oil filter, air filter changed using leppon now. Is this average fine, if you have any experience, would appreciate your response !

Yes i have been through several threads. What i concluded was to go for 5w30 so i was in the process of switching it stepwise. Thanks anyways

Yup. Sorry my bad..
10w30 by caltex is mineral based oil.
Yes, i plan to keep on the current grade and looking for a top up

This engine is always good on 5w30 or lower oils. 20w50 screws the engine.
And usually the oil rings are seized and seizure causes oil flowing upwards and causing smoke issues.
Smoke usually appears when rings become really worn out and once rings have started gone bad, tail pipe becomes full of soot and slight oil burning smell appears.

Yes. There has been a detailed discussion regarding the engine oil for 1kr-fe and i concluded and grabbed much info from it and thats the sole reason for my current oil grade. Regarding the smoke issue, Alhamdulillah nothing at all, neither do i feel any weakness in engine on motorways, as it easily tops 140 and 150mark. No lag in pick.

Regarding the fuel average i am a bit skeptical, as i want some side by side users of this model for comparison.
My car gives around 12-12.5km/L without ac in locals and 14.5-15km/L on long route. Is that fine?

Same issue
I use the same oil
With filter oil change costs 2500 I recall
For god sakes don't drag it till 5000kms.its mineral & cheap.
I throw it out at 3500. Top it once around 2-500km's with 500ml
