Gng stepwise means 15000km running, not required, one can jump directly to 1030 and then see where the engine lies. I have 1kr passo still running on 0w20 at 100k km

Well here lies the confusion now. Some recommend the drain interval as 5000kms, whereas if speaking of the dealership, they will recommend you 7000kms which is their lack of knowledge i suggest.
May be you are right upto some extent as my car has done 4100kms and oil color has changed to chocolate brown.

No confusion.

Fully synthetic oil can be perfectly fine even at 10,000km. Amsoil signature series is rated for 20,000+ km oil change interval.

Mineral oil is rated for much less. If you are using mineral oil then changing at 3,000-4000km km is fine.

I noticed significant reduction in oil after 3000kms, upto 3000kms, it was fine and oil gauge would show a reduction of one quarter i.e reduced by 1/4th of the highest nd lowest point
Which i think is perfectly fine if speaking of 1kr-fe which is notorious for eating oil.
And now after driving it for 4000kms, it has reduced to half on dipstick..

Brothers, i changed oil on 4000kms. And planning to keep this drain interval for future as well. But can someone guide that what if this scenario happens again, will i be topping it up everytime?

p.s caltex lube shop is near my home and they have 10W 30 in drum dispenser. its very cheap and easy to top up if u hv sm facility near ur house
(or buy 4ltr can and top up urself worst case scenario)

@hash4u Yes. Ultimately i might reduce the drain interval. So will i be doing this top up process for the rest of my life as far as the car is with me? No other solution? Do you top up everytime prior to an oil change?

people here claim 10W - 40 kills oil reduction problem
i am not going any "thicker" then 10w 30. drive pleasure and avg killed
permenanty fix is engine rebuild
Atta bhai claims he has done many and oil reduction is solved

Yes thats what i am skeptical about too. Because the engine performance has improved alot after switching to a thinner grade and in my case scenario, it was a transformation from w50 to w30. I feel a hell lot of difference overall.

without AC 13-14km/ltr local
will drop to 12-13 with ac
i have another car for highway drive.if i use the same car for twin city highway travelling avg will jump by 2-3 km/ltr up

Hmm. Thats pretty decent. As i am getting 12.5-13km/L in locals and around 15km/L on long routes i.e motorway without ac.

In my case oil consumption was more on 20w50 and less on 5w30 and further less on 0w20

Get it checked bro. One of the first thing you should check if car starts consuming too much oil.
Check youtube videos on how to check pcv valve.
Well, all engines consume oil, even a brand new one there is no machine in the world that doesn't consume oil. All it matters on quantity of it.

@haseeb.basharat I will, thanks for the feedback, but one if the reasons of oil consumption in my case scenario might be my switching process from a thicker grade i.e from 20w50 to 10w30. And this car was on 20w50 for a good duration of approx 2-3 years by the previous owner.
