Toyota Platz/04 Vitz Engine Swap

Assalam Alaikum ,

Dear people, I have a toyota platz 1.0 L 1SZ with manual transmission.Its got a lot of mechanical problems all related to engine,jis mechanic k pass b check up k liye jao wo kehta hai k iska engine kamzoor hai,iska engine kamzoor hai...Ya overhaull krva lo ya assembly rkhwa lo,and ab itna dikhanay k bad ,chlane k bad and experience krne k bad mujhe b pta chal chuka hai k engine iska wakay he weak hai or engine ka kaam hoga ya assembly rkhwayi jaye

So now i need your advise ...should i go for overhaul or should i go for assembly ? kindly mention pros and cons of both ...
And Also i have talked with two mechanics and they both say different things...one of them say go for engine assembly without transmission and the other one says go for engine assembly with automatic tranmission ....i dont know what to do ..And also mention should i go for 1.3 insted of 1.0 if i decided to go for engine assembly ? i mean i dont know ,kindly mention pros and cons and also if anybody has any idea about the cost of this kind of work these days ,kindly mention ...Thanks in advance,Looking forward to your replies

please state the name of your city.

without the basic compression test declaring an engine WEAK is not a good approach. I term it as scamming a customer.

mechanical problems in engine, what is the approach to determine the problem in an engine?

1SZ & 1KR engine parts are available brand new and can be overhauled without an issue by a learned workshop.

thankyou for your reply ,issues like low pickup even without ac, constant knocking engine sound,white smoke coming out from exhaust,sometimes its bluish,things like that and also cant go above 110 ,i did have any compression test but i had its engine thoroughly checked by a mechanic ,there was a lot of space(jisay mechanic play kehtay) in engine's components like pistons and also mileage is pretty low now ....

The main thing bro is that a couple of years ago while travelling on motorway the engine got heat up and it didnt start ,then its head was replaced and after that it was never the same performance and drive experience,we kept it running the best we could without any major repairing other than the replacement of the head ...its still running but alots of problems,in short it doesnt feel like a toyota car,or even a car so after much consideration i have decided to finally make a decision and go for the proper repairing of my car ....kindly tell me what should i do ? i think is clear though,the car really needs an overhaul or an engine replacement ...Other members of my family also got it checked from their own mechanics,they also say the same thing,so its not like scamming ,although i thankyou for your concern.....

What i cant decide now is that what should i go for ? if i go for an engine swap ,should i go for 1.3 with or without auto transmission ,originally its in manual ....or should i just go for 1.3 without transmission or should i go for 1.0 with the same current engine ???? Thanks

gor for assembly replacement but do check assembly from some experienced mechanic

Swap engine with 2nzfe 1.3 engine you will feel the difference.

It's same engine that comes in xli,gli.U can also swap 2szfe which is also 1.3

Of course, but 2nzfe is found in local corollas nd imported ones, found in abundance, new spareparts are easily available throughout the country, every mechanic understand it and above all better pick, feel and fuel mileage as compare to 1L engine.

whats the difference between 2szfe and 2nzfe ? which will be a better option from every perspective ? like performance ,experience ,compatibility ,market value ? thanks

the best option is engine overhaul.
lahore is not far senior member @syncview mr. osama is running a workshop 0321 4106898 is his number as mentioned in profile. he can do the needful for you by the book overhaul. swap is not a good idea as i have learned from here junk yard engines does not have any reliability plus you stay at workshop once a week for rest of vehicle life.

you see bro ,i am confused again now -__- dont know what to do ...some people say kabli engines are good if you can find a good one ,some say go for overhaul ,but moslty people say go for swapping ...i dont know what to do,can you elaborate your point ,how come junk yard engines are not reliable ?

After everything is done, i am definitely gonna come here and share my experience whether i went for overhauling or swapping and share the overall experience and guidance

i will try to explain.

a. a smart mechanic can overhaul the engine, new parts and machining can ensure quality result for next 300,000 km with timely engine oil & filter change. You will be at peace knowing the job done.

b. scrapyard engines are highly doubtful nobody can trace which vehicle it has come out from. after how many kms it has landed in the scrapyard. for how long it is sleeping in yard. hardly any engine dealer will allow compression test. for healthy compression engine price automatically goes high.

c. engine number endorsement at registration book also revise the value of vehicle.

Also 90% engines from scrap yard fail compression test in first attempt. Because valve seats would be soo dirty to hold the pressure. They sit in scrap yard for too long before coming here.
