Hi, So I have clocked around 250KMs on the car so far.
The "Break in" procedure is still in progress so it is expected to behave as if it is strangulated. As per Mr. Atta, it would start easing around 600KMs and the performance would improve afterward.
We are going to change the oil filters at 600 as well.
Honestly, I haven't really tested it for acceleration or performance. I normally drive in S mode, under or at 40KPH or 60KPH with D mode in highway.
So lets give this another 1000-1200KMs and would then share my views.
On the cost, I would leave it to Mr. Atta if he wishes to disclose.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the work done and the support thereafter.

Ok boss.

So the current case study is a routine engine analysis which I do on regular basis and 10 out of 15 vehicles has damaged engines.
1kr is most popular engine in toyota series but here in Pakistan every vehicle which is equipped with this engine faces a distress full situation here.
Like this engine has a recommendation of low viscosity usage in it but we here ignore it and pour what ever we want to use or advised to do so.

In return this engine faces premature piston oil ring failure due to sludge build up as the groves in ye expander rings are so tiny that only oils with 0W or 5w escapes from there. And maximum viscosity is 30 only.

Engine knocking is heard to be a common issue for 1kr which all of us including me some years ago misdiagnosed by the engine ignition knock.
Which after research and working on these engines revealed that that knock is actually not the ignition knock but a piston slap.......

!!!!Piston slap but how did it happens a normal person think that I am changing the fluI'd at time and never put stress on engine during drive. And how did this happens.
So first thought is may be this is pakistan and the fuel ratings are not fine or the environment is not fine.
That's all wrong the first and last lime of defence is the engine oil in an engine if there is no oil the engine would not run.
Engine oil plays a special role in it so choosing a oil brand and specs is an important role in prolonging the engine service life.

When I was looking for my car I was initially searching for Vitz. But almost all cars had some funny business, changed engine, ECU, etc. One buyer was asking 200K above market price for his so called excellent car. Driving it revealed alot of vibrations. So yes, I stayed away from vitz and bought a WagonR and am happy.
I don't know why pakistanis have an obsession with mota tail. I upgraded from 10W-40 in my WagonR to 0w-20 and vibrations, jerking, all stupid stuff is gone. The car is now a pocket rocket.
