Brother i could not find the user manual for vitz anywhere, however i found manual for 2017 yaris hatchback and it says 5w-30 is most suitable. Do u know where i could get the latest manual for vitz?

To get more juice out of the engine 0w16 is recommended but it's not available here in Pakistan but in limited quantity.

Do u think a sudden change from 20w50 to 0w20 will be appropriate? and since i dont wanna rely on the toyota mechanics anymore, is there any simpler way to check the engine health myself?

I have, but i dont know how to remove the oxygen sensor. I'll probably have to tell this to the mechanic then.

I repeat we are talking about the new gen 1kr engine not the 2010-2013 old gen 1kr.

Use 0W20 without any discussion, the best result. I am using it in Aqua My vehicle is around 100k KM.
Change frequency 8000KM, use Toyota genuine 0W20 (Imported).
Don't listen to those who says harsh weather hy Pakistan myn ye nai chal skta, Japaneses cars are new generation engines, and recommended OIL is 0W20.
