There is a bit of smoke from that sensor hole on smoke test but no smoke from exhaust in routine operation. Please tell me should I keep driving it as it is not giving me any issues. I add about 300 ml oil after every 1500 km. Oil grade is 0w20 and car odo is 140k. Please advise

What did cost you for replacing the head assembly. Actually i am facing the same issue, and as per Mechanic i used to pour the 10w40 this time to check if engine oil reduce it limit due to smoke. Have the same engine and model. If there is anything elese you recommend before replacing the head assembly.

dear I have not find any single mechanic who suggest me to go for over haul or even if someone suggest over haul then availability of original/good quality parts was difficult to trace so that is why I decide to swap. Meanwhile it cost me approx 72k.
61k head assembly without giving them old head assembly
4K labour
7k (5w30 Toyota taglon, original oil filter and air filter)

What do recommend, either replace the head assembly or overhaul the engine.
If replacement of the head assembly is only the solution, so where i could buy from Bilal Gunj if you belongs to Lahore (an authentic seller).

keep using the car. oil reduction is as per design. its written in the car manual by toyota.

you are saying that best grade for 1kr is 5w30? I am using 5w20 in my 2015 model and used 4000km uptil now no oil reduction issue oil level is same at upper mark on dipstick

For 1KR-FE, 0w-20, 5w-20 and 5w-30 are all recommended and suitable engine oil grades. One can use any, based on different set of conditions.

If 5w-20 is suiting you, then its perfectly acceptable.

I myself have been using ZIC A+ 5w-20 in my ex-rides Vitz and Passo, and was happily satisfied with it, in both of the cars.

Recommended grade for 1krfe is 0w20
Owner manual allows 5w20 and 5w30 but only if you cant find 0w20. The owner manual further advise to revert back to 0w20 on next oil change.

In real life too 1krfe is happiest on 0w20.

The mechanic whose service I hired for swap suggest me 2 option. The guys who deals in Vitz engine locate in bilal Gunj name Jamshed and Zohaib. So I do have reference of a person also have business setup in bilal Gunj so I involve him in purchase of head assembly. If needed I can share his contact detail with you. Rest, not 100% fully guarantee when something wrong happen

thanks for your valuable guidance. Kindly share the contact details for my future use. Infect this time i poured 10w40 and will observe the oil reduction for this tenure.
Last time i used the 5w30 from Shell and by drove 3700km the oil level dropped to last limit of guage.

Normal engine oil reduction is considered as normal on engines, by most of the car manufacturers.

If oil level drops in between, before finally draining it all; simply top it up.

From next time, 1st try fully synthetic 5w-30 engine oil by Total, Caltex / Havoline, or even Kixx or PSO (PSO being thickest in these all 04, but still, fully synthetic and 5w-30).

If it does not suit, next is 10w-30 by Caltex / Haviline.

Lastly, 10w-40 fully synthetic by ZIC.

Just ensure that oil is 100% authentic. Change oil + oil filter after every 5,000 Kms / 06 months (whichever comes 1st), and if oil level drops in-between, simply top it up.
