Why would you buy a commuter car, only then to realize you need more HP, after the purchase, things are not always like in fast and furious.
I suspect the OP can't even change the tire but thinks he can tweak a basic modern engine for more BHP.

They are daily commuter cars famously known as (econo boxes) . They are built to move you from point A to B , So dont expect track performance out of these things .

These cars are not made for performance they are for efficiency so you cannot have both at the same time.

Yes it can be increased by optimizing the current system parameters. And stabilizing the fuel system.
But if you need to increase some real power then seap the yaris with 1ZR-FE along with 6 speed manual transmission.

I drove Yaris 1.5 cvt and it doesn’t feel eager to accelerate like cvt equipped cars usually do, to get the power one needs to press the pedal a bit more or turn on so called sports mode. The car seems to be tweaked a lot for economy and at first it feels weird. Moreover there is a another weird thing in this car; as soon as acceleration pedal is left the car bogs down as if brakes are applied.
These both things make the car feel a bit sluggish that’s why people often complain that even with 1.5 engine and cvt gearbox the car has some hesitation.

I have Yaris Ative X and all the things you wrote above are true.

And its sport mode makes a car bit quicker but it can never ever do 0-100 even in less than 12 sec .

Car is pathetic in terms of acceleration.

When ever you try to over take someone and give car a little peddle it makes sound like you have done some kind of ziaditi with it. Very very sluggish car in 1.5 category

Something is wrong with your yaris , my yaris did a 100 in 10.5secs in sports mode in manual , and does in 11secs in sports mode automatic
