None of those "features" are significant enough to sway an Altis 1.6 buyer to a small sized Yaris.

Bigger size, more power, probably better drive in terms of power/acceleration. Shape too.

Those are the main advantages that do matter. Rest Altis has all the major features. Abs, immobilizer, great air conditioner, alloy rims, same two air bags. Tried and tested reliable auto transmission.

A hatchback having climate control and push start does not mean it's better than a car way above its class ie Altis.

Similarly Yaris is in a class below Corolla 1.6 and Grande level. No need to compare.

Altis 1.6 has been Tried and tested to be a failure... bad fuel economy and jerky shifting...

Then again its personal prejudice, how on earth can a sane person say that 4 speed ect is better than 7 speed CVT...

Altis 1.6 is an old generation car, people buy it as a compromise not as a choice... its a feature-less/ stripped variant, can not be compared to the bells and whistles Yaris 1.5 comes with...

Once you start driving cars with stability assist and traction control you start feeling unsafe in cars without them... i wonder how can someone buy a car for 3.5 million that does not even offer hill start assist? How do you visit places like Murree without traction control? Yaris is a small wonder, packed with safety and modren gadgets...

for the argument of having more space, bolan has more space than altis and is even more feature stripped, buy that... lol

Yaris and corolla have similar seating space, unless you own a corolla, you don't feel any difference...

Exactly. It is good to see that Toyota is finally able to fill up the sub-compact sedan gap that has existed in the market for so long without appealing options. I am all for it.

Happy that people are accepting as well. Yaris is a decent car and it will be good for a long term use.

I am an owner of Altis 1.6, the Pre-FL model, I love it by all means but it is pretty stripped out as compared to the FL Altis 1.6, the thing that I miss the most is the transmission itself, the old 4-speed auto is not ideal for short trips, can consume a lot of fuel on idle. The car needs a light foot most of the time or the RPM and ECO meter raise higher to their end.

In 2014, we were not blessed by these CVT options in lower variants of Corolla. As per the rumors, the 12th gen Corolla Altis 1.6 might be equipped with an old 4-speed auto yet again, this is undoubtably a stupid move as IMC has introduced a sub-compact sedan; Yaris with CVT lineup already.

oo itna ghusa altis pr... bhai its a fine car. apne nhi li to fail hogai. maaf krdo toyota walo ko unhon ne bnai he kio.

i dont own either, im impartial. but i have been to toyota showroom where these two are parked side by side. I can say in front of altis 1.6 , yaris's bells and whistles are just ghantay.

also cvt transmission needs much more care and costs a lottt in oil changes. we didnt even thnk of changing transmission oil of conventional auto tranny.

maybe il get yaris once indus comes to its senses and lowers the car from the sky down to earth.

Grande has climate control and vsc, by your logic it is better than a Camry and Accord. Rofl.

Your car is a small cramped sedan, which is raised like a truck. Without vsc it will topple over.

Kindly don't compare with a higher category of Corolla Altis/Grande and Civic. Enjoy your ride if you like it.

Agreed. But the issue is they dont see these features while comparing it with 1.6. They make their decision based upon size and shape of the car. I had a discussion with my cousin who is around 23-24 years old and he said yasir is fazool i said how and the answer was Choti gari hai aur shape bhi fazool hai. So i countered him with the options available in yaris Ativ and CVT gearbox and he was like what is CVT So for those people yaris is literally a flop car because its smaller than corolla and shape is not that good

Just because you bought a car, does not mean you have to blindly defend it and make arguments that make others laugh.

CVT and automatic are two kinds of transmissions. Traditional automatic is much more reliable, and CVT in Pak, nobody knows how to maintain or even change its oil. Toyota 3s itself opens the pan which is a joke.

Theres no advantage of one over another, except a minor increase in fuel usage.

Like I said, a cramped small Yaris if it has a CVT does not make it equal or better to much higher segment cars like Camry, Corolla and Civic.

Just because you bought it, it will not make it comparable to higher segment.

Just enjoy your ride. The 1.5 ativ x is priced too high and close to Altis 1.6 used, so naturally people will want to opt for a superior car (FL Altis).

Any day I will defend Yaris in its own category with Honda City. As city is crap here.

So far so good mate, soft cushy drive, 13-15 average. Good looks.

and why are people bashing Altis 1.6 here? I have 2019 late as daily driver and its great car... Yaris with CVT and all cannot compare. and 4 Speed Super ECT is durable AF. Its good car for the price.

They might be usable for rear fog lamps. Like most pkdm car have space for but are left blank.

Even Corolla has a blank space next to rear reverse lamps.

my grande having same issue, according to manual its due for cvt oil change but im not willing to allow some half mechanic at 3s dealership mess with my cvt.

toyota needs to up their game with this cvt transmission. jugaro ustad mechanics cant handle it.

Who told you the oil pan doesn't needs to come off? The correct procedure includes

Draining the oil with the nut.

And then taking of the pan and cleaning it throughly. The gasket/Seal needs to be replaced every time aswell.

There is A Complete Chapter on How to Change Transmission Oil of a CVT on Toyota. Here is a guide for reference. This guide is made using Toyota Genuine Service Manual. I will attach a video to show how an oil change is done professionally. there is no need to open pan in a simple oil change as per Toyota Service Manual. Irony is till last year toyota 3s didnt follow their own SOPs and i dont know what is the condition on their dealerships right now.

Jaan deta sarkar... but every altis owner buys it because he wants a little justified power... every owner also regrets the car being too stripped off... even the sound system is compromised....

Yaris and Altis are two different category cars, comparing yaris to altis is not fair, however, Yaris is a justified package while Altis is always a compromise... saves half a million over grande... no one buys it because he wants it....

I think Conventional Automatic gears are alot better than CVT. In bigger engines CVT only suits 660cc cars
