What I can gather from your first comment is that since 1.6 is bigger hence it's better. Despite being only couple of inches longer and wider....... well I guess every inch counts.

More powerful ( well driving performance measured in terms of acceleration and top speed is almost similar)
Better in drive (I was watching a video in which it was mentioned that yaris was benchmarked against corolla 11th generation in terms of driving experience. It's driving experience is similar to that of 1.6 and I have experienced that too. In fact if we take into account sound dampening of yaris, cabin comfort is even better)
All those major features you have mentioned in altis are present in yaris and more.
Brother yaris sedan is not based on hatchback, i think people in this thread already had this established in previous conversations.
Yes you are right , yaris is a subcompact sedan whereas 1.6 is compact sedan and no body is arguing about that. My argument was that considering everything yaris 1.5 is a better package as compared to 1.6.
