I would go with the stock tire and not change.
I would never go to 16" as it will require reducing the tire profile. Although it helps improve stability and control, reducing tire profile will reduce the comfort level on poor roads.

195/65/15 would look better but would throw off speedometer by 5km/hr when driving at 95km/hr the speedo will show 90 km/hr. Challan at motor way if you exceed limit :).
Moving to 195 may also cause Rims scraping during parking close to footpaths

Tahir Abbas on Youtube pointed out that 195/60/15 also hit the back bumpers on poor roads. He is now using 185/65/15 and satisfied with it.

How would 185/65/R15 behave in terms of comfort level, stability and control as compared to OEM size? Will there be a significant difference?

From 185/60/15 to 185/65/15
It will be 0.7 inches larger in Diameter, so good.
It's profile will increase from 4.37 inches to 4.73 inches. This increase in profile results in better comfort. Stability may slightly decrease. Speedometer bhi impact hoga. Driving at 93 the speedometer will show 90 only. If you can live with this speedo difference to improve the look you can change it.

Baat yay hay kay ye dou cheizan inverse hein. Comfort tire ki profile bharney say bharti hay. Or stability Tire ki profile kam karney say ya tire ki width bharanay sey. Laikin aap Tire ki width bharatey hein tou aapko profile kam karni parti hay otherwise tire will get hit due to soft suspension of Yaris.

Personally I will not change the stock tires. Replacing it to any other size will cost you and I don't think it is worth it.

I have driven around 50+ km today... crossed worst potholes ... khaadas to be more accurate... the whole road is a mess ... but my kids school is there so had no option ...

Then there is a 8 km or so patch of highway ... where I again hit 100 km ... pata nahin chalta ... its super smooth... and with quite a few truckers and winding between them to get through.. the overall handling and road grip seemed completely acceptable...

I don't think I will change the tyres on this one ... would be the first time though that I won't be changing tyres first thing after purchase...

PS. Might change my decision once I take it on motorway ... still unregistered so will have to wait till after eid I guess.. If it handles well at 140km and road noise is acceptable then I will inshallah stick to stock tyres.

I recently had my bi-annual appraisal meeting at my company and they announced that they will upgrade my car from Mehran to Yaris GLI 1.3 Manual base variant. The delivery will be inshallah in one to two months. I will share my experience about the ride here.

I also own a Honda Reborn and will compare the difference in ride with Yaris Gli 1300cc manual.

Update: My company have now informed me that my car will be upgraded to Toyota Corolla not a Yaris.

Changing Tyre profile doesn't just change comfort and stability.. it changes the whole dynamics...It affects car height. ground clearance; drag force, braking dynamics, Tyre sensors, etc etc (Engineer hazrats ziada behtar comment kar saktay hai)

Your ECU, ABS,VSC all are are programmed for this particular setup and all the car testing has been performed on this particular setup.

So unless you can get a better Tyre in the exact same profile as stock; I wouldn't advise changing it as it will not just affect comfort ... it will affect everything ... ABS, TC, VSC etc..

Rest ... Its your personal choice... whenever you are moving away from stock settings... you might gain a certain thing but you get it at an expense of losing some.

People here do not want to change just the tires they want bigger tires to reduce the wheel gap. I agree it impacts everything even the speedometer accuracy.
Personally I think it is not worth it...

It's better to keep the car to spec, not changing tire size for example.

But check the user manual, there is usually a minimum and maximum rim and tire size given (along with recommended pressure for different sizes and rims). So the car should be fine up to the maximum size given in the manual.

Yes that it true, within the limits given in the manual works fine. As long as the diameter of the wheels is not changed drastically, it will be OK

Yes, but even within the range mentioned in the manual, speedometer will have to be recalibrated to work with the tire size.

Why would you pay own for a car that is available in 30-40 days.
Besides Own you will also have to pay 1 lac extra as fine or register your car after 3 months to avoid fine

Don't worry about speedometer difference. Most cars we have here already show around 10% higher speed. So if your tyre gets it down by 5%, you are just getting more accurate.
