AlhamduLillah collected my 1.3 ativ cvt today, drove around 70 kms and I felt it had alot of wind nkise on motorway, especially at speeds above 100 kmph.
Do You guys also get the same noise?

On going down hill when we shift to manual mode then we can see on MID the gear the car is in. I prefer triptonic and keeping it in low gears and not letting it go into gear 5 or 6.

Nope... no noise at all at this speed... however whistling sound at speeds above 120 has been reported..

Get it inspected...

Aoa.
I have drive my ativ x 1.5 2500 km so far. I did the first checkup at 1000 km. The engine tuning and oil change is due on 3000 km or 5000 km?
Secondly, i am thinking to go for 5w30. Is it ok for the new engine or should i chose a different oil?
Lastly which company's oil is best to be used?

Oil change is due at 5000.
Go for 5w30 Toyota recommended Taglon X.

No such issue for me... But I have 1.5 Ativ X which has acoustic windshield which should lower the noise... Someone with 1.3 variant can reply better.

Goodyear is a good brand, however I read somewhere not preferred for our road conditions, but again it depends on the condition of roads where you normally commute. I am waiting for my Yaris delivery and been reading about the tyre options as well. I have shortlisted Continental or Yokohama Advan DB. Previously I have experienced Dunlop tyres in 195. They werent bad either, if you are on a budget. Three years and above 40,000 driven no issues faced with them. Only 1 or 2 flat tyres.

Yes I am sure its a good tyre, Goodyear comes in the premiums. As I said it depends on where the car is most run. The comment I read was about its durability at slight rough terrain, which becomes hard on Goodyear tyres.

how much shop keepers buy general tyres for? since i never chane local tyres and drive with them and drive quite aloy what if i buy these tyres from one of guys here who wants to upgrade to different ones ,would use them in future since i drive quite alot and 1.5 years would be themax time they will remain in storage

Yesterday spent some money on aesthetics of my Yaris. I went to Babu Muhalla in Rawalpindi Saddar. The price compared with Islamabad is very low. Here are the things that I got done and their prices.
1. Leather ryte seat covers. Got it from Royal Poshish Works. Very professional work. They are proper Poshish makers and they sewed the covers with the original fabric cover. Very very neat look. (Rs. 9000)
2. Fabric portion of doors was also covered with same leather ryte. (Rs. 2000).
3. Arm rest with same leather ryte. (Rs. 500)
4. Two cushions in same leather ryte with ball fibre filling. (Rs. 1000).
5. Covered the whole floor with Beige colored Rexine. It was fixed very nicely and looks absolutely like it was part of genuine fitting. Cheap one was Rs. 3000. I got the one offered at Rs. 4500(Thicker one). The one with 7D style was for Rs. 5500.
6. Got TXR air press with chrome. (Rs. 3800).
7. Got heavy rubber mats in beige color (Rs. 3100). 7D style were for Rs. 4800.
8. Got trunk mat. There were two options. Cheap one was like cardboard and for Rs. 900. I got the one in Rs. 3000. It was a really good fit.

Another thing that I had done was the tints. I got the door windows tinted to 10% and back to 50%. It was just to give a decent look to my vehicle. Otherwise 25% tints are more practical. Rs. 2400 for tinting.
