Anyways you are right about the regulations. Companies globally are always forced to improve safety and emissions by law because these are not primary consumer selling points.
Secondly Toyota took NO bold step. They were forced into launching the Yaris, increasing cost of production,an entire new assembly line had to be necessarliy added only beacause the upcoming generation of Corolla's body was too big and heavy to be supported by 1.3s and the new engines can also not come in 1.3s

Its not about thanking less, in developing countries where the law hasn't matured yet, consumers are the law. It is their debate and formation of public opinion which dictate success of a product, so let this discussion continue, we learn so much from here.

Civic is better than Corolla internationally, the new City could be better than the Yaris but we as consumers have to learn not to let Honda get away with treating us with a decade old car like this. I love the Civic personally but because of their BS quality and lack of safety features, went for the Grande.

Na new city ani hai hai na competition hona hai..main to 2015 se intezaar main hi hun kay city aye gi..lai ker aik sale ker di..per shape never changed.. civic has very good looks but kia kerna looks ka jab her part ki quality questionable ho..steering to door handles..Corolla to andhun main kana raja hai bus werna chussain to her local car main hai

Care to elaborate because I can right now tell of 2 safety features in Grande that you probably haven't heard of and secondly Civic k forum pdho yar please...launch wale...seals issue, water damaging the engine, steering rack, bumper plastics, hanging info sys, Learn to go into specifics instead of bashing, do you own a Civic btw, I really like the car but...

And in my humble knowledge, Corolla has 3 point ELR with Pretensioner and Force limiter AND Isofix child seat anchors which were both critical in my purchase.

AND NOW DO SHARE CIVIC'S INNOVATIONS...we'd all love to know

Why are we making this a Civic X vs Grande thread ? We all have discussed about Grandes and Civics countless times and many of the members here have kept both so lets keep the thread clean and focus on Yaris. We have other threads for Civic and Grande so you guys can comment there. Civic lovers can check Civic X owners and fan club thread or they can check my Civic X's thread I am sure those civic X lovers who havent gone through my thread will simply love it. As for Grande vs Civic X Both are equally good and at the same time equally bad
At present On road price of both cars (brandnew) is crossing 4 million mark which is way too much. So lets just focus on Yaris and other options that we have in 2.4 to 3 million PKR.

Yaris 1.5 Sports mode

Watch 2:20 onwards and 5:20 onwards.
The CVT transmission is really nice and just like Grande with fake shifts. You can use headset to hear those fake shifts. Simply loved the transmission. There is no sports mode in 1.33 ltr variant but transmission is same 7 speed CVT so i think it will also have fake shifts. If thats the case then its too good to have such a nice CVT in this price range. But if 1.33 cvt lacks those fake shifts then one must go for 1.5 ltr CVT. The overall driving experience becomes so better with these fake shifts !

Those who drive it 100,000 kms they are just driving it on bonus as CVT life is near to its end.

my dear, CVT isn't that fragile as you think. I have seen many Yaris crossed the double of that mileage with no problem to their CVT transmissions : )

i don't know what kind of cases were those that your friend encountered, probably the owners never changed transmission oil !! otherwise CVT isn't as problematic as you think.

Reverse link is also good..and of steering works without an issue..its even safer actually ..the projectors hurt other much lesser than standard LEDs of Civic...safety means ...impact to everyone even who is coming on a bike

True anyone buying civic can surely get Grande and vice versa...so it's personal choice. i mean no one has got civic or Corolla due to ignorance or being poor than other...always be operhearted to hear issues... none of the cars is an amg afterall

As I said you will find many people running CVT oil well over 100,000 kms, running it on bonus, the life of CVT has already been reduced. It's like a cancer patient walking fine and doctors tell him you have just three days more to live.

Now you can ignore the change interval and keep running your CVT beyond recommended change intervals.

They are giving the test drives. As their site says, you can book a test drive online. Also, Yaris has been listed in their availability of the cars they sell.
