No sir, you're wrong. Many car manufacturers don't even specify CVT oil change in their manuals. Or some dealers specially Toyota workshops vaguely recommend 120,000 miles.

That's miles not km.

They make it hard to change CVTf for a reason. Some says it's for lifetime but obviously some are critics and don't believe in that theory that oil lasts a lifetime.

Still less than 100,000 miles is uncommon in USA for CVT oil change. Many dealers won't touch the CVT if it's 60,000 miles or less.

In Pak many people have this obsession of changing CVT fluid unnecessarily. Even at short intervals like 40,000 km.. and Indus started this joke as well... It's an overkill for a CVT tranny.

You are welcome to drive your car up to those miles, you car your choice.

However, replacing CVT fluid costs lesser than changing a transmission. Why take risk?

Follow your OEM recommended interval. And this one recommends even going earlier replacement of fluids.

I think that 1.5 CVT Yaris will be more fuel-efficient? Since Grande 1.8 CVT was more fuel-efficient than Altis 1.6 4 speed.

So is it possible for Yaris to surpass Grande’s fuel economy figures? Yaris can do better than 1.3 manual/auto GLi, no doubt.

Ofcourse Yaris will be economical than Grande..in my opinion..lesser body weight...and cvt should give a great mileage figure.grande mileage is impressive due to power and mileage combined in a bigger body

Dude, I'm worried if IMC discontinues Corolla lineup due to inflation. I think that prices might go up again due to Corona lockdown in most businesses. I'm wondering if it is a good idea to replace my 1.6 with the new Grande? It seems like the 12th gen won't be here for some time. What do you think?

I personally think that 12th gen is now far away. With current economy they won't be able to bring new model soon, yaris hi chalain gay filhaal. If u can find Grande at a good rate..go get it..new 12th gen can't be less than 45 lac of course

You can get a 2nd hand Grande atleast 2018 or end 2017 FL model for around 34.5-35.

He is in Karachi, so may be able to find a bit cheaper. Lahore/Islamabad has highest rates normally

No IMO yaris 1.3 cvt will have better fuel economy. If 1.6 altis was mated to a CVT it would give better fuel economy than grande. Any engine running at lower RPMS will consume less fuel. Indus might launch 1.6 with 6 speed manual which will be even more fuel efficient corolla.

Yes definitely yaris surpasses grandes fuel economy due to less weight.

This myth is actually true unlike Sunil munj who believes this myth is false:

I am not sure about 1.6 Altis, but i am driving a 1.3 yaris CVT for 4 years now (2nz-fe engine). It gives around 11-13 in city (depending on traffic stops) and i achieved 19.6 km with 5w30 oil and 100 km/h speed!

Here they are selling previously used Grande(s) 15-25k driven for 33-34 lakhs. Though some are still asking 37-38. Super White is super expensive for some reason.

I was considering a new one. It says 36.99 lakhs for a new one on Pakwheels Car Price. We will see

Its not backward...old 1.6 had less features .may be that's the reason for yaris preference. Ehitet is always the hottest selling color in any car..new Hrandey with registration costs 3850k i guess in Karachi and around 3900k in Lahore.. plus withholding of 75k

well, apart from the pricing part, obviously that is insane for every car now in Pak, bigger is not always the better : ) there are many households that the bigger corolla is a bit of an overkill for their garage , Yaris would be a perfect blend for many ppl , a mixture of both, size comfort pricing , nothing over the top (with regard to corolla)

This new 1NR-FE engine with displacement of 1329 cc produces 97 hp. 1.3L Xli / Gli made only 84 hp.
Base level Yaris gli with stick shift should be brisk.

I thought I made it clear. The reason we still don't have 12th gen Corolla is because of rupee depreciation. If rupee was at its place today which it was prior to election then ppl would go for Corolla. The reason IMC is skeptical about bringing the 12th gen is due to inflation, they know that people wouldn't buy it. Hence they brought Yaris instead.

No hate towards Yaris, by the way.

Right plus...they needed something to kick aging city totally out of market and yaris just did that..i don't see a single city sale from now onward.even in the totally base variant..unless someone is getting it 200k cheaper than yaris base variant..
