If we plan to trek in Neelum valley at the end of June. can we trek up to......

1) Ratti Galli lake
2) Chitta Katha Lake
3) Shounter Lake / Pass

Would we be able to do all of them in 7 to 10 days ?

Please suggest some more To Dos in Neelum valley. Thanks

we are planning one week family trip to Swat in 2nd week of june.

need follwing information and guidance what to do, where to go and what not to do.
till where cars can go,
reasonable hotels with approx rent idea. prefer average budget options,
how is PTDC hotel in Kalam & its Service
Approx rent of Jeaps for trip to lakes etc, and whats capacity of these jeaps
recommendation of good hotels in all track, on the places recomended to stay, e.g. Madyan, kalam, malam jabba etc.
we are 4 families can we get easily 4 roams in these recommended hotels at spot or we need advance booking?

Ratti Gali is 3 days trek.
Chitta Katha is 2 days trek
Shounter Pass is 2 days

I did Ratti Gali and Chitta Katha in one trip and it was quite exhausting so doing all three in one trip may be quite tough.

And u need 1 day rest in between so it makes 9 days just for trekking.

If u guys are experienced trekkers then attempt Ratti Gali and Chitta Katha. Shounter Pass may not be accessible in end June as it is 14,900 ft ASL and there could be hard snow near the top.

You will find glaciers on way to Ratti Gali and Chitta Katha but those can be managed.

Can you guide us more about other worth-seeing points and stopovers in our way up to Kel. As neelum valley is all new for us and we dont want to miss major spots. Thanks

If u guys are not experienced then choose only one trek. I would suggest Chitta Katha as it is short and intense

Mingora Fizaghat area is good for enjoying river side time if weather is good.

Malam Jabba is quite famous.

Then comes Miandam. Another hill station in a side valley on way to Kalam.

After that Kalam itself.

From there, u can visit Byun Village, Ushu forest and valley, waterfall and finally Mahudand Lake.

Another famous lake is Kundol which requires 2-3 hrs trekking.

You can also visit Utror Valley and some lakes where jeeps can go.

But to cover all this u need 4-5 days.

1. Is Neelum Valley open for tourists (especially in above mentioned dates).
2. Can we use Mehran Car in this visit.
3. What is current road condition.
4. How far we can go on Mehran and on which areas we will have to hire jeep.
5. Any update regarding hotels and dining etc...

As of today , saif ul muluk and jalkhad both are still blocked due to glaciers amd work is in progress. It may take another week or so to open the roads.

check the hotel reviews thread for information on hotels.

rates get sky high in peak season and u may not even get a room if visiting on weekend. Even tents are rented out in 1k when it is rush time.

No, only jeep track is sharda - jalkhad through Nuri pass.

2. I took my mehran to Kutton, Sharda, and upto KEL last year. Don't under estimate this machine.
3. I have just posted contact of hotel in Neelam valley. check hotel reviews thread.
