We, four persons, are planing to visit lake Saif-ul-Maluk and Anso, in mid June. We have plan to over night camp at Saif-ul-Maluk and then trek towards Anso. I searched Wikipedia and it says even locals don't recommend night stay at Anso. I have lust to stay there. I want to ask what are the reasons tourists don't stay overnight at Anso.

Mainly harsh weather. I have experienced daytime snowfall in mid June at Ansoo Lake. Be prepared for very cold and foul weather if u r planning to camp there.

Thank you brother Mobeen. Can you please help me regarding purchase of trekking shoes. One pair for both snow, rain and trekking in normal conditions, used or new. Where can I purchase them from Islamabad/Pindi

Please advise, I plan in Eid Holidays to visit Naran via Lahore-Muree -Muzaffarababd-Naran on my own vehicle ( 1.3 Swift MT) I naver drive on these roads but one went to Muree drive my self but that was not difficult at all for me.
But no idea about beyond Muree.
My quries are
- I have no idea about road condition and way to Muzaffarabad where i plan to stay for 3 nights. get idea form Maps only.
-I have never drive these road before but i drove once till muree without any issue.
-The way form Muzaffarabad-Naran how was it and how long this approx time, can my Swift reached there without any issue.Need to saty at Naran for 2 nights is it worthwile enough to stay.
-Is fuel available on the way easily or i need to carry fuel tank along with me.
-On my return i want to use Abbotabad -Natia gali-/Muree-Islamabad -lahore. How is the road form Naran to Abbotabad -nathia Gali, Is it dangerous for new drivers like me. or just like muree etc.

People visit hydro project waterfall, jeep safari to Jagraan Valley and u can also visit Jing Pass from Kutton.

Fellow, im planning to visit Skardu with my family on 15th of this month. I will be travelling by air and will be staying in Shangri-La resort. Stay is for 4 days, thats what i have planned. roads are ok and fuel is available in all main cities.
on all these roads only issue is be carefull, dont speed, and read for any surprise, like speedy local drivers or some one overtaking on blind turn, or any stone/muds/jumps/animals etc. best is drive in relax mode enjoy the area and weather
all these roads are good and if u r using ur car on petrol it can reach to all these places, people drive Mehran, Bolan and soo many other cars in all these places.
regarding stay in naran u also can add Shogran to ur destination, its on way to naran, and 2 days are ok for naran.

I wanted to get advise for my plan this June (in a few days) with my family to visit Murree and Neelum Valley.
Since its first ever visit with my wife and her 1st ever tour, i want it to be as good as it can get
Affordability is also an issue (mid range nothing fancy, nothing luxury for the stay but having proper facility for family)

Need advise on (plus charges/quotations if possible),
Places to visit in Murree (2 days) Neelum Valley (4-5 days)
1. Can i avail PTDC and how?
--My visit places include Patriata, Bhurban, Kashmir point and Pindi point.
2. Anywhere else to visit which is beautiful?

After 2 days will go to Neelam valley for 4-5 days
3. Is it possible to go directly or go via muzaffarabad to book AJK or valley trackers?
4. Where to stay? - Shadra, Keran, Kutton, Kel or Taobut
5. Availability of transport?
6. Places to visit?
I also would like to vist places like waterfalls (read one is near shadra), Lakes (Ratti Gali/Shounter Lake) which ever is suitable for the family.

7. Is it wise to avail travel agents like valley-trackers (costing 3500-7000/person + 4000 for 4x4 / day= ~12000/day)
Or to avail individually.
I read in one of the forum that AJK Rest-houses are under renovation which means i can't avail those.
Its my first visit to Neelum valley too so i don't know much.

Muree is ok but road to neeleum... tiring journey if u dont have a comfy jeep

neeleum is a valley, and u can drive for 12 or even more hours conti. in neeleum. however, sharda and beyond lies real beauty and i feel family will get too much tired while reaching sharda...

a word of advise .. if u want ur wife to travel with you again and again.. dont try neeleum. no doubt it is the most beautiful valley but, journey is tough. take her neeleum on her 3rd or 4rth tour
