Trip to kaghan valley on bikes from lahore to naraan

hello guys its my 1st thread to share u guys my experience regarding our tour to kaghan valley on bikes on 25 sep 2010 and our bikes were honda Cg 125. our journey was started from lahore at night 1:30 am and we managed to reach in naran at 5:30 pm at evening it took almost 15 hours in which a lot of resting n staying is included then after staying night in naran next day we planned to go towards lake saif ul malook due to recent floods there was short age of petrol because of which we were unable to cover other areas in kaghan valley . our tour was of 3 days in which we covered almost 1300 to 1400 km distance . as i told u guys our journey was started at night thats why i dnt have any pic on Gt road i made a few mins video on Gt road before rawalpindi but after that we were so tired that we were not willing to take out camera from bag we started taking pics when mountainous area started from and we mentally got freshed

total cost of petrol on our tour was almost 1800 rupees in which half of the petrol was remaining when we reached lahore :D. it was our 1st ever tour out side lahore . it was great memorable journey

roads were broken from sides coz of july flood

Finally the worst place came near Mahandri, when we were going towards naran we took almost 1.5 hour to cross this land sliding area because stones were coming down time by time we took a huge risk to cross it ALHAMDULILAH we crossed it

after crossing the messy land sliding area we finally got to kiwai and then started our journey to shogran

giving rest to our rides road was like slope and we were going towards shogran on just 5 to 10 kmph speed even it was getting difficult to go on 2nd gear

now just 2 km away from shogran

it was breath taking view from this area truely amazing

we stayed a night at pine park hotel .

brother its sony cyber shot 12.1 mp w200 series cam ,,, i want to buy professional cam but they are too much expensive

@cyberaks Mashallah brother. what an inspiring trip!!
i have always wanted to go on such trips but the furthest i got was till nathia gali. the main reason is fear of breakdown. if clutch wire or brake wire got cut then it is big problem. could u plz tell what puncture kit you were carrying? and did u have to use it?
you know going in car is much peace of mind as there are many mechanics on the mountain areas, but i havent found any bike mechanic on these areas. and the one i did find on my last trip didnt have any spares. what do u think about this issue?

thanx bro ,,, honestly telling u this was our 1st ever tour and we took nothing without us except a wire of clutch and a bulb for head light , this was risker tour but Alhamdulilah nothing went wrong in whole tour ,,, how could clutch wire got cut while riding bike i didnt get ur point ..we didnt got punctured bro we placed a spare tube inside tire to protect the tube from any nail etc. i dnt know much about puncture kit next time we will take all things with ,,, yar if ur bike's engine is in good condition than nothing will get wrong with ur bike only point of worrying is about puncture of tyre nothing more than it ,,, the bike which i was riding we just repaired its engine for tour, it was fine tour nothing went wrong ALhamdulilah but i will recommend u too book ur bikes till rawalpindi then go for naran etc coz Gt road is bit risky becoz of load of traffic on it

Alhumdulillah that your trip went safe. in those areas you have to use clutch a lot and sometimes wire can snap that is what i meant. about puncture, brother in lahore when we go to get tire puncture fixed the mechanic only pulls out the tube. but in those areas mechanics take out the whole rim and do it. i had very bad experience about that. my front tyre got punctured and i went to puncture shop. the guy took the whole front rim off and went to fix it. when he started to put the rim back, the tire wasnt moving. it was kind of stuck. the mechanic told me it is fine just ride it and the tire will become easy eventually. i was very angry and i started shouting at him. then he called one guy who seemed to know something about bikes. he opened the rim again and found that the mechanic had not fitted the speedometer garari properly. this garrai was now bent and stuck in the wheel. so he removed it. bike ran good after that but speedometer didnt work. there were no spares for it. at the end of the tour i got the garari from pindi on my way back. i always think what if back tyre get punctured? if mechanic wants to take back rim out then so many things need to come off. and they do not know anything about bikes so how will they put it all back? puncture kit is good option but even for that you must know how to take tube out of tyre and put it back. also for clutch wire, you should know how to install one. i really enjoyed my trip to nathia gali but i knew in case of any problem, i will have to load it onto a jeep and bring it down to pindi.
