Well ... If we turbocharged a 4AFE ... it will transformed into a 4AFTE ... That’s how people in other part of the world call their machines when they do some mods like turbo charging etc...
As @Levin recommend 20v for high performance ... I do agree with him but not up to full extent ... 4AGE is a high performance engine but its naturally aspirated machine. With the span o f time one gets bored with the performance of his machine … like if I swap a 4AGE 20v in my car after some time I gets fed-up with the performance and then I need some thing new, changing the whole setup is bit difficult … and if I go for some mods, then what sort of modifications I can do in my 4AGE 20v … this will need hell lot of money to increase performance in these machine …
I personally don’t recommend 4AFE nether 4AGE 20v … I will go for a 4AGZE … this engine has a lot of potential and big room for improvement … in stock its supercharged … and you can easily turbo charge it as well … engine is specially designed to give more performance then 4AFE & 4AGE 20v … can bear a lot of boost if properly fueled…
Short block (which helps is good launching) … big diameter & forged pistons … better oil management … strong rods … double over head cams running independently with the same timing belt … these are some qualities that make 4AGZE superior among discussed range …
