well i am here :).....!
Rashid bhai said it quiet right that base should be able to bear the load you putting on it.....!
well i think.....Turbocharging 4AFE is possible but it can't be tuned to so much high outputs.........!in short...4AFE won't have bright future when it comes on expecting high power gains outta this economical motor.....!
it can be turbocharge on low boost...but it can't be reliable after that power output which you are expecting from a performance motor.........!
4AFE head is narrow angle designed as well as its also semi-twin cam i say after reading its design.....!
4AFE is designed in such way that only one Cam is driven by timing belt and the other cam is driven by spocket from 1st cam....!
lets see what happens in future.....!!!

Well ... If we turbocharged a 4AFE ... it will transformed into a 4AFTE ... That’s how people in other part of the world call their machines when they do some mods like turbo charging etc...

As @Levin recommend 20v for high performance ... I do agree with him but not up to full extent ... 4AGE is a high performance engine but its naturally aspirated machine. With the span o f time one gets bored with the performance of his machine … like if I swap a 4AGE 20v in my car after some time I gets fed-up with the performance and then I need some thing new, changing the whole setup is bit difficult … and if I go for some mods, then what sort of modifications I can do in my 4AGE 20v … this will need hell lot of money to increase performance in these machine …

I personally don’t recommend 4AFE nether 4AGE 20v … I will go for a 4AGZE … this engine has a lot of potential and big room for improvement … in stock its supercharged … and you can easily turbo charge it as well … engine is specially designed to give more performance then 4AFE & 4AGE 20v … can bear a lot of boost if properly fueled…

Short block (which helps is good launching) … big diameter & forged pistons … better oil management … strong rods … double over head cams running independently with the same timing belt … these are some qualities that make 4AGZE superior among discussed range …

starlet: He is not preparing a race car in 1.6l class with unlimited budget.

pls keep practicality in mind. i was talking about 10 -11 years old engines.. yr talking about like 20 yr old engine. the probability to find good engine decreases.

all he wanted was some G force to pump his andraline level and his parents refused,, well that is good part..

what you suggested will end up with more trips to mechanics. yes if you guys can find like new 4agze motor,, nothing like it.but i had my doubts.

@Starlet_GT..Ibrahim Bhai.....well you know all the progress....and then you asking me to go for 4AGZE...:S....!
here i can't get my hands on 20V and you are asking me to get GZE...:S....well 1st of all..GZE is damn hard find....and if we did.....we don't know hows its gonna be from inside...!
well thing i am asking is asking for 4AFE turbocharging......! i know none of these cousins 4AFE and 4AGE can't be boosted like their daddy 4AGZE can be....its made to be run on boost and thats what we are talking about...so i know that 4AGZE into 4AGTE is gonna be one hell of thing...but here 4AFE is our motive....!
well if i put my hands on 4AGE 20V......i don't need to turbo-charge it anymore because i know its hell good from what i need...i can easily live with power it made.....! the sound of ITB's will make you smile every time you rev it...
so i think in limited budget and nice power.......! GE 20V will be my option...!
HOPE in my life...i have a chance of driving and owning it..

Farrukh ... my suggestion was just over levin's suggestion ... I know your limitations as we were discussing your case from the start when you were looking for the car KP60

My suggestion is to put that 4AFE first and get rid of all those problems you face during the swap ... once it gets set ... Couple of months after testing its performance then take the next step...

Its too early to think about turbocharger ... may be engine that Tariq bhai brings with him have low compression.

satrlet: i also know his limitations,, that is why i suggested in limited budget..(cost of 4age20v intalled and turbo4afe is more or less same but results are different)..you get a stock motor on 1 side, and other side home made stuff,, resale value also differs

as you know 3sgte will smoke out 4agze on dyno i also mentioned as a spice:) does not mean i was really recommending it..-- i think after a certain amount of discussion the repeated replies turn useless. this post has reached that stage.

Thanx for both of ppl for sugessions....!
Well Ibrahim Bhai....i think all 2nd Gen 4AFE's are 9.5 CR....the older ones are 9.2-9.3 i think..........! which came back in AE92.....!
I have tell him all the things regarding to 4AFE...like design and all.......2nd Gen 4AFE came up with Square Tappet cover and have square Plug wire boots....! well he also knows about it.....! as he used to know about 5AFE which came up in Imported JDM AE100's....!
well lets see what he brings..if he find........!

Theres also report by him that JDM 4AFE's are not in market but either there are local 4AFE's or Thailand Rolla ones....! JDM engines spreaded are all 5AFE's.....! i have checked my self in SHershah by inspecting every engine and on Block it says 5A.....! looks are all same...!

Well i am waiting now for anything to happen bcz in khi..last week was all spoiled due to shitty activities out there in city.....! he came back from half way as he leaves for queeta.....!

well....! i will keep you guys updated ...!

Getting to much bigger things in Khi is useless ....!
bcz here you don't have roads to drive them....4AGE is i think enough for here...but i am sure one can't use it over here.....! but for driving pleasure...its (y)
3S-GTE and 2JZ are Track motors i think......!

Its sad to hear that there were only 5AFE all around and unable to find a 4AFE ... I was wondering if you go for 5AFE then what will be the major difference ...

First you are looking to turbo charge your 4AFE ... but its an almunium block engine which is less reliable then a cast iron block ... and if i am not wrong 5AFE has iron block ... then why not 5AFE ... ?

Secondly its cheeper then 4AFE as I told you before that 4AFE is a market engine ... came in 1.6 GLi

What do you say ... ?

well....! 5AFE Iron Block...:S...i don't know...Really !!
Well i will look for 5AFE build...i think its same as 4AFE.....!
well....have a discussion with mechanic as he said 4AFE have'nt arrive more in Imp cars as all reconditioned AE100's or EE100's here having either 4EFE or 5AFE...no 4AFE....! so he won't find them out there...!

well......again.....!i am standing in same place from where i start look thinking.....:S...!
in 1.6L Class....4AGE is only thing left....! i will try my best to convince them on 4AGE.....!
well as here as i ask...5AFE without controller and half wiring is around 30K......! so here if i get 4AFE...its not less than 35-40K....!
well.... this time..i will just take my mechanic with me and ask him to check that 20V BT....no DOHC GT nothing...! just asking him to check engine....!
lets see what happens next.....! thing is that there's difference of 10K in 20V BT and 20V ST rates...! 40K for ST and 50K for BT.....! but that 50K BT is complete with wiring till controller....! thats why i am prefering it....!
