Hey....A series came up with Cast Iron Engine Block and Cyl Head....:S they are not cast Aluminum Blocks....!
A series is all based on Cast Iron Blocks and 4AGE and 4AGZE are All Iron Blocks....!

5AFE or 4AFE or 7AFE...all have same kind of Block builds...Cast iron Blocks....!

Well 4EFTE is from E series and E series based in Cast Iron Block Along With Aluminum Cylinder Head.....!he 4E-FTE Is Different From the 4E-FE Only Bcz Of Its Stronger Connecting Rods, Lower Compression Pistons & Different Head Gasket.
Block is same as 4EFE have had....!Cast Iron....!

So I think 4AFE can handle Boost....thats clear now...with Cast Iron...It can....! About Internals.....its Risky but on Low Boost..it can be run......!!

i have also read & seen videos of 4AFE running on Turbo and on that video 14Psi run on Stock Internals is mentioned...! on stock internals just with MAP sensor upgrade....!

i have a video of a toyota altezza with a 3s-g engine smoking 4 different supras in various levels of trim...ranging from 320 horses to 550 horses.

so dont ever say an ENGINE cant be beaten.. its all about power to weight and nothing more.

Well ... sorry for some misunderstanding, 4AFE is also a iron block engine, Toyota changed block in next generation.

First of all if your machanic bringing a 5AFE without controller for 30k then dont go for it coz you will get one from shershah around 25k,

Secondly ask you machanic if there are any 4EFTE avaliable in Quetta, I need complete head/block without gear & ECU

Thirdly, if you turbocharge your 4AFE/5AFE you need to change the pistons. due to different compression ratio ...

Difference between 4EFE & 4EFTE engine block is that 4EFTE got bigger oil circulation unit then 4EFE ...

well yaar truly speaking.....i am also not in favour of messing with anything like Turbocharging or changing internals to make it able to bear boost....!

I believe on thing what is it rite now....N/A setup or FF turbo if you have so much need of Turbo...
well turbocharging 4AFE is possible..but things will be changed...and not so good idea to do it....!

well bhai lets see....i am behind 4AGE Again.....as you know whenever i have chance.....i will try for it

about 4EFTE....so my mechanic won't know anything about 4EFTE.....i will ask someone else for that and let you know......!!

nowdays...busy in some serious matters......as i get them resolved...i will look for swap.....!!

B/w...what you said......hows 5AFE? good idea to swap or not.......power gain was around 30hp.......! with Twin Cam 16V Efi thing......!
Truly speaking...i am never ever be in favour of swapping 5AFE...i better stick with 2E with some work on it....! bcz doind that much shit and ending up gaining around 30hp...i don't think its quiet a good idea....! what you say...!

In my openion the DOHC 5AFE's have better ecu's setup for controlling boost n knock. Coz they have self learning setup,i.e, a knock n an O2 sensor. Besides i have had personally used that engine for upto 12 psi with intercooling n water injection, in a charade GTti.

well as i know Its used in conditions where detonation is expected which can damage engine badly....! as when water is injected along with air/fuel mixture......it burn mixture more effeciently and avoid detonation and pre-ignition..but the sole purpose of using water injection is to avoid detonation.....!

B/w Hows your experience converting 5AFE into 5AFTE...
and how much power you gain....and have you use it on stock internals or use strong internals....!?

Cost,hmmm!
Just used one Nozzle with sufficient flow of water to stop the knock with charged water at the same boost level n a wiper water pump:).

The water is used to maintain the combustion chamber's temprature constant.
The power produced was around 170 bhp like 0-100 around 5.5;5.7. screeches all over the place(there was very big issue of transferring power to the ground).

Since I was able to quel the knock n the combustion chambers' temprature were controlled effectively so there was no need of any stronger internals.

Due to the traction n broken fuel tank problems i had to leave that project. But a used to be friend took it from me in order to develop it further, n as usuall i stoped being friends with him n since that day i have not asked him about that car.

I had seen one water injection system on ebay ... it was complete set with 4 nozzal. If I need to use water injection as you did, then how much I suppose to inject water ...

Can you tell water ration/boost ... or there is some other way you calculate the amount of water ...

Bro just add enough water to stop the knock. Too much water will defenitly bog down ur engine's power.

Bhai g, No block was smoked, by the grace of God it worked on the first go. Waysay bhi a guy with a history of 6 blown n engines n many turbos of GTti dont need any more blockes to be broken by him.

if i can get same power from N/A 4AGE......why i put myself in all that hassles..

What sort of nozzal you used for water injection? and where did you get it? where did you get it?

is water was injected contineously or you spray it one some certain time?

U can use any nozzle of proper size(as discussed previously). Try finding it at ur local hardware store. I used contineous injection. As i was using a beltdriven supercharger with an electric clutch. so the timing was never an issue n so I was saved from electric gizmology:).
I simply turned on both the things at the same time. waysay bhi a 170 bhp Charade had hardly needed any the power boost more then few seconds. Ah!
