2L NA on Cross as well as Corolla sedan is only for LHD. It's not avaibale with the principal for RHD so, I dont think we will have it here.

Toyota strongly lobbied for Hybrid so, I am sure they will assmble hybrids locally and it will most probably the sedan Hybrid. Both sedan and Cross can come but possibly not at the same time. I think it will be Corolla sedan first. Or as another member said maybe Hybrid Cross while the non Hybrid sedan.

Let's see.

I hope for the best because introduction of hybrids (locally assembled to keep the price down) will be an awesome addition to both sedan and small SUV market.

I have followed the history of Morris Garages, I have been a fan not because of their racing history but due to the adorable Mini Morris.

The car that has been engineered in China, Designed in China, has parent company in china can not be called a british brand.

It is evident from the fact that apart from the Mini no other brand lays so much focus that it is british. Sadly one is German and other is Chinese.

Yes they own the name, nothing more.

That's the sad fact about almost all British brands. They stopped being sustainable and needed foreign saviours. I don't think any major British car brand (apart from Aston Martin) is still independant.

Unlike how SAIC is handling MG, Geely has done it the right way with Lotus by giving them the funding and letting them make independant decisions and products. The new Emira is probably the best car launched in 2021.

I personally think Toyota and Honda just utilised their clout and used the auto policy to show Mr. Javed Afridi that you dont enter a market via disrespect and by calling previous players mafia (remember that initial tweet when the duties issue was first raised).

Yes the japanese 3 were fleecing pakistani auto market for long but instead of tweeting, people should follow the Lucky Motors way and develope the market rather than whine about and indulge in shady business.

Coming back to the topic......

1.6 and 2.0 corolla would be introduced first followed by Corolla hybrid( 2 years time) with an all digital meter and all the gimmicks in the international version and a price tag of almost 5 million on road.

Guys, I have an interesting observation that may suggest some disappointing news for 12th generation corolla variants in Pakistan. The Toyota "Altis" sedan may not have a sunroof/moonroof this time. I recently purchased the grande X as a daily and IMO, It was a decent choice, value for money, resale factor etc. Now that 12 th gen is probably coming out aug-sep of 2022 it got me interested to do research for future replacements and I went through Toyota websites in Major Altis markets i.e Malaysia, Thailand, Saudi, Indonesia, etc. None of the variants or their brochures gave any hint of a moonroof/sunroof. What could this possibly mean for the Pakistani market? Will Indus follow suit?

The 11th generation Corolla Altis from Thailand had no sunroof BUT PKDM had it. Altis is top version in Thailand. Toyota Thailand is Toyota Indus principal but we saw a sunroof on PK model. Even in Malaysia where a 2.0L V is top varaint was without sunroof .
