On a side note, i was researching about next generation of Toyota Yaris/Vios since it basically came out in 2013 and that's a long time for one generation in such a hotly contested segment, despite extensive facelifts.

I came to know that the next gen is indeed under development and that it will be underpinned by the DNGA platform(the lower cost version of TNGA) currently used by Daihatsu rocky/Toyota Raize. This is because Toyota has delegated development of ASEAN version of Yaris to Daihatsu/Perodua.

Recent reports have speculated that it could come as soon as August next year and could have a 1.0 turbo 3 cylinder, and the trusty 1.3/1.5 too.

So @fazalwahab11375 my question is will Indus be ready for it when it launches? Are TNGA and DNGA similar enough to expect Indus to launch newer model, as "new" City will surely affect current model's sales (despite long wait time/confusing price)?

I agree. By "could come as soon as August next year" I meant in the global markets.
In Pakistan, this generation of Yaris is less than 1.5 years old so of course IMC will want to continue with it for a while.
Unless something drastic happens and sales completely tank, next gen Yaris will not come to Pakistan before 2024-25 I reckon.

I was just saying that when they eventually do decide that Pakistan needs next gen Yaris, it would be a relatively smooth and quick process since TNGA platform will already be in use for Corolla and Corolla cross (and probably even next gen Hilux/Fortuner).

This is some really good research.
So its certain that the new model of Yaris/Vios is expected in August 2022. Which means it will be launched in the Asean Markets by end of that year and on the roads heavily by 2023. Please note the Yasir Atif X 1.5 engine is prepared by the same factory
IMC on the other hand would provide a facelift by 2022 end and then replace the model by 2025 hopefully....

same, Im about to book Altis 1.6 instead of aspire,
even if 12th gen comes by 2023, resale value is enough that I'll sell this one, add a few more bucks and buy 12th gen 1.6.

Hi can anyone please confirm, whether Toyota has put a hold on Atlis 1.6? I went to the dealer yesterday and they said Toyota Indus is not taking orders for Altis. Is this true or are they just trying to make a sale of Yaris instead.

In Lahore they are taking bookings of 1.6 AT for the month of April 2022, that means 8 month waiting time. Do not expect 12th gen atleast for couple of years.
