Uzbekistan - Samarqand and Tashkent

Hello Folks,

During the last winters I was in Uzbekistan where I was staying in Tashkent but visited the historical city of Samarqand also.

I was not carrying my camera with me so the photos are from E90:).

Visting Samarqand was a very rewarding experience. Uzbekistan is a former USSR state so that was another experience to see the remenants of Iron Curtain Communism.

Ya heard that the air ticket to Uzbekistan is cheap.
Around 12k PKR i guess.

And there are flights to Uzbekistan from lhr airport once a week.

I think I should reconcider this trip.

Sir any more info you wanna share regarding Uzbekistan visa process
and other things.

I shall be gratefull.

I am not too sure about the ticket fare as I went on an official trip. What I know is that there are many travel agents in Lahore who might be able to guide you.

Ahh tashkent, plenty of stories i've heard..
My school trip went there back in 08, heard you can get a night in as low as 1100 rs (not talking about hotels here :P)
Keep on posting more pictures, i haven't seen any of this

The road infrastructure of Tashkent is quite good. Mostly it is from USSR era and the outlook is like any old communist city. If I am not wrong Tashkent was the 3rd biggest city of USSR. Wide roads, iron grills, huge block buildings. I visited University of Tashkent and it was a massive university!
