O bhai saab, the court gives its decision when somebody approch and file his representation...IHC su-moto nai laiti...how could they say that it is illegal when there was no complainant.

The court has often taken plenty ov decisions in the past. Were they all because someone complained? Do they sit and watch otherwise?

1st of all, this decision will probably be appealed, and this case will spend another 10 years in the court, so I dont think anyone who bought such a car needs to be worried about it being confiscated. However, having said that, people who bought these cars for investment purposes will never be able to make any money off them, since they will get sold at a comparatively lower price.

This SRO that was issued is in contradiction of the constitution, and shows the steps that the previous government took, in order to make money.

People were so happy for registering hundreds of cars for profit. Where as a common man paid more for the same car. I was against this whole blunder and now I'm very happy. Never support thieves. For years they have done a crime by keeping an ncp and now out of no where they can legalize their cars... you cant have your cake and eat it too.

it was the government who had committed crimes for years by keeping duties sky high and letting local auto mafia loot us for over 2 decades or more...

the people who right now own the cars are ordinary people who bought these cars when they were sold by the original ncp car keepers.

so those who kept ncp cars originally won't even get affected...almost all of them have sold their cars. the people affected would be poor awam who made the "mistake" of buying cars which were then called perfectly legal. where the hell was this court then? sleeping? they let the actual criminals get away and now the awam will pay for crimes not even committed by them.

I'm against the whole sky high duty blunder. If we can't make good cars in our country, don't bother. let the professionals in japan and germany do what they do best and we can stick to our agriculture or textiles or footballs or what ever...

Records. Most ov them have a number plate mentioning 'CUSTOM PAD'. GOD knows if they meant custom paid or that it will actually become a pad for the customs.

Don't worry nothing will happen practically. The vehicles now already registered with excise shall be legal.

these are not stolen cars. these are just ordinary vehicles imported into afghanistan and later smuggled into pakistan without going through the customs. where is the stealing part?

and now plz don't tell me you have never bought anything through a pathhan or any copied chinese goods etc...

And I find nothing wrong with that scheme. they calculated that 16 billion is the max amount we can get from ncp car owners, if we charge any higher, they wouldn't bother paying the customs. So whose fault is it if now a new calculation shows the government could have made 25billion?

now let me change the wordings so you can understand better. Suppose you go to market and you find a nice corolla in a showroom, brand new. the dealer sells it to you for 15lacs. now two months later a court makes a big rowlla that the selling of the car was illegal, because taxes could have been charged at a higher rate at that time which has resulted in a "loss" to the qomi khazana of so and so value...now the court says, lets impound your car and auction it. how would you feel? thats what has happened here.

lets say you are today paying 200% duty and two months later same intelligent court comes and say duties could have been charged at 300% so this has resulted in "loss" to government , so lets impound all the cars and auction them after raising duties to 300%. how fair is that?

that completely destroys the purpose of the court. the courts are doing the opposite of their purpose.

alot of people said that awaam ka kiya qasoor
their fault is that they wanted to buy a car cheap as compared to market price which others paid for the same car,laalach buri bala hai,bhugtey ab aur kia

n if they think its morally right then they should have bought the car at full price instead of car via this scheme

I totally agree with your logic except for the part "later smuggled into pakistan without going through the customs" which means whosoever smuggled the cars back into Pakistan, thats a form of theft. Rest, my feelings are with those buyers of such cars but they knew that those are smuggled cars and by buying those cars, they basically made fun of all the general public who bought the legal cars and paid legal taxes on the time those taxes became due.

Bhaiya ap to naraaz ho gaye... u forgot to read the sentence I wrote and I repeat "my feelings are with those buyers". I still feel, its the govt who made that theft legal and then let the people buy those cars. I still don't know if you are one of those buyers. I never claimed myself as innocent, neither pointed fingers at you, so plz don't tell me "to keep these morals to yourself"as I am not trying to judge anyone based on his/her decision of buying such cars or even other non-custom products (including yourself, of course). I said what I felt without judging any particular person, so instead of taking such remarks personally, you are better off think about the real issue here and objectively add your thoughts to this forum, no matter whether your comments are in support to the courts decisioin or against it.

this whole scheme was fishy.. if you disagree to that.. your own opinion and i cant change it,
and no i wouldnt buy an lcd 10k cheaper because it has no warranty and i know a similar thing that happened to the owners of ncp cars will happen to me..
first of all this amnesty scheme was ridiculous, there had to be a catch.
the buyers shouldve known, there are people like me who had easy access to these vehicles but we said no.
this is not at all like me going to a toyota showroom and buying a corolla.. wrong example sorry.
this is more like illegal thing made legalised which later was declared illegal again when someone filed a petition. courts are reactive not proactive. its not their job.

it was made legal by a chor govt, a chor president who ate a lot of money. that doesnt mean we should over look this whole thing.
