This mazda was wrekced by my Taya on islamabad highway. His life was aved, car was gone case and he bought a 74 corolla after that which i have restored now

can anyone put some light on Merc 83 V8 5.0 EFI engine regarding horspower and performance, I am thinking to put it in a 75 mercedes.

Output for the M 117.965, found in the 500SE/SEL versions. A jewel of an engine that will potter around town at 20km/hr for hours and yet deliver its rated power for hundred's of miles at speeds over 220km/hr. It does not have the typical american V8 burble but a lovely sound full of bass and character.

4,973cc, 96.5 x 85mm, V8-cyl OHC, type M117, Bosch fuel injection, 240bhp at 4,750rpm; 296.6lb.ft at 3,200 rpm (to spring 1981).
231bhp at 4,750rpm; 298lb.ft at 3,000rpm (from spring 1981 to October 1985).
245bhp at 4,750rpm; 286lb.ft at 3,750rpm (from October 1985).
