I personally like MkII because of its variants like 1600e, GT and savage but MKII is completely based on MK1. Ford actually in compitetion designed it in a hurry and just change the shape of MK1 and nothings else. later on they started to give variants. Funny thing is I had my Cortina Engine changed in Lahore. The same engine came to some shop in Neela Gumnbad from Bilal Gunj but it was a while back in Year 2001.
Regarding Morris crazy person like me would turn it into a hot rod with V8 and flames on the side :). But I think this car deserves a restoration then being converted in rodster or Datsun 1200

@ AsadIshaq Pix uploaded I see you have liking of VW . One my friend who is around 72 years of age keeps one spare engine on the back of his car. Was kidding he knows VW like he knows himself. And he really have room full of spares of VW. And he is helpfull a lot. If you need any VW help let me know.

@safeershah 50K, Last I know car had brakes problem but it engine was in running condition. But don't know now however he claims there is not problem in the engine. They parked it in running condition. But its been there parked for couple of years. Red Oxide has been painted inside floors and exposed areas.

I checked with Shafiq Autos. He said that there is no place by the name Tariq Autos on Montgumery Rd....may be he is not aware of it.

Safeer for Morris or for VW. As the VW friend is basically retired person I did mentioned his age above 72 years and mostly remains at home and he doesn't have 1600cc double port engine. For Morris you can contact Sarwar or Anwar at 021-4398105 and they are located at Tariq Road

Naah, too bulky, a Triumph Dolomite or Fiat 124S, much sleeker (probably faster too)
A similar Triumph was rogered by Talat's workshop guys (behind Zoom petrol pump Blue Area). Their current 'project' is a one owner low mileage 1302 Beetle. Its ended up pushed out of the garage and is now engulfed by Islamabad's fast growing undergrowth.

Novelty Motors, Karachi, told me about this Tariq Autos, Lahore. I was looking for some VW parts and they told me that Tariq Autos, Lahore has some.

It has to be there.. beacuse there is a threadat Pakwheels in that Tariq Autos is mentioned.

@Spectra, yes, I know the Triumph is in a bad way. I wanted to use the F word, but it seems the polite term isnt quite as common here..oh well, Talat in short, is cruising for a bruising..can't ANYONE knock some sense into him? The 1302 is a perfect cosmetic resto, only, if he lets go before the monsoon rains

btw...heres our moris minor...we sold it in 1999 when we moved to canada...was a great car and it used to turn alot of heads...the gold color and the pinstriping...

later when we came back...we searched for it..to buy it back... found it to be in real bad conditon in yellow color with a bulls vinyl on the side...poor moris...
