SOME NEWS FOR ALL
received a call today from a Doctor saying that he has an immaculate silver Oldsmobile Tornado which he has brought from Lahore. He has had the car for 15 years and recently moved to Karachi.
Emaar Builders had contacted VCCCP asking us to do an exclusive show for them in Karachi and Islamabad. Though the club had agreed but the recent terror issues have put the plan on a back burner.
Our annual VCCCP Car Show at the Forum is also being planned but will only go ahead if security improves. It would be great to have some participation from enthusiasts from other cities specially Lahore/Pindi and Islamabad.
On a personal front, I have down with flu throughout the eid holidays. Constant irritating cough has drained me out completely. My Healey is undergoing final paint process at home. I am not taking it to a booth as I plan to repaint it after sometime once all other work is finished. Have really worked hard on the body, doing it bare chassis up with not a single nut/bolt on the shell. Sadly the finish doesn't seem to be good enough as one fender has a small dent which is difficult to take out without spoiling all the paint process. It is not that noticable so I have decided to let it be for the time being. Dashboard is missing a speedometer and have bid for one on Ebay. Auction ends tonight...bid amount $110 so far. I won't go over $150 as this meter and the RPM that I already have are from a 100/6 which have a different dial color. I am looking for original 100/4 ones. The cockpit aluminium mouldings are missing and I have got them made locally but they are far from what they should look like. I had bought a set on ebay for $250 2 years ago but my friend who had it delivered to him in LA moved to a new house and now cant
fine these mouldings. Used ones are available at SCParts for arund GBP 200. Will go for them when I travel to UK next, perhaps in summers.
Compressor is now on, I am going out to see the Healey getting it's original shade of green called 'Spruce Green' over cream. Will post pics in an hour. More later....
