Blew the apex seals RE13B of the RX7. Spent a whole lot of time talking to people for replacement versus repair and a whole lot more worrying. Trying to find reliable smugglers... after my experience with the alfa engine and the karachi customs collectors I think these Latter day transporters are the best bet in Pakistan. When in Rome do .....
Anyhow the RX7 is now in rude health after the engine replacement.. I am allowed to talk about this future classic...I am in the road testing phase... considering Lahore is Death Valley in July August with 44 and 60-80 humidity and crawling traffic.
Waleeds Fiat has trhe rear diff taken of for repairs/ replacement... it was too noisy and about to implode. The bumpers have gone for rechroming.
The Datsun weatherstrip kit has arrived. So what with the new dash and the console the inetrior should brighten up. The denting had some issues and some of teh lines were wonky and have to be corrected. want to do that in the metal rather than use steel puteen etc.
The Morris is languishing at the old house. She whose word is law has refused to let the 1948 Morris Split screen into the new home.... I think some smuggling form myself is required. OK in Sept/Oct will do
The Mini is going strong. My eldest is learning driving on it. The correct 165/70 tyres were unavailable so I have puny 145s on at the moment as two tyres due to old age and the Lahore penchant for horrible cats eyes burst one and made another shed its tread. I never cease to be amused at the proliferation of these anti tyre devices when the Ganjas come into power. I think elder Ganja or no Longer Ganja loves them ... simple soul.
The Alfa is languishing with major old parts collected including grill and the headlamps etc. the rear lamps are 350 Pounds each new.. so these will be done at the end... why oh why do people want to convert alfas into mazdas or suzukis. Atrip to the UK is looming if the visa appears on time but more of that anon.
Anyone know of a Miata fopr sale...cheap. I need a replacement for the MR2
