there are plenty such owners out there. 15 years ago, a guy wanted 2 1/2 crores for an Austin Princess.....25 years ago, Model T owner said he had been offered 2 brand new Ford cars duty paid + Rs.700,000/- , dollar then was Rs.15/-....When I bought my Jaguar Mk V, the owner started with, " I have an offer of GBP 40,000' from a gora. I told him why would a gora pay for a car which is half rotten and falling apart when there are plenty available in his own country for GBP 5,000 in mych better condition. Some years ago, a 1958 180D Ponton in running condition but with a filler rich bad paint work, owner said he wanted to sell the car.....when I asked him how much was he expecting, he shocked me by saying 3 million claiming that he was offered 2.2 million by a Dubai Sheikh.

One can write a whole chapter on this.....infact I would love to hear duch stories from our friends here as I am sure we all come through these type of owners.

The owner of this beautiful Jaguar claims that this is the first production XK 120 - It has an all alimunium body and owned by the Akoi family of Delhi. It purred like a cat.

Salam to all, this is my first post. I have seen almost 400 pages of the vintage thread and I am amazed to see some beautiful classics.
Question for fellow members are there any Duesenbergs, Auburn or Cords ever seen in Pakistan or even Hispanos.
Also I am looking to buy a pre war, I don't mind a rust bucket as I would slowly like to restore it.
Again I am looking for a High End, an RR, Bentley, Cad V16, Hispano, Cord, Auburn, Duesy all help will be greatly appreciated.

I do believe that Cadillac V16 belong to the family of Nawab of Bahawalpur is available.....they wanted 8 million for it a couple of years ago. Find a connection and enquire. There are stories of a Duesenberg in Lahore. I met someone in Delhi who claims to have seen it 50 years ago. There was a Lagonda Rapide V12 which was exported out of the country. There is a Cord 'kind of' look alike in Karachi - a 1938 Graham Paige 6 cyll 'Super Charged'...beautiful shark nose car gone to the dogs. The most exciting is the Nawab's 1926 Lancia Lambda special bodied Pheaton - amazingly beautiful car....gone missing in Karachi a few years ago. Welcome to our thread.

thanks for posting the Godess's pic. Beautiful car but painful to see it unloved.....the owner is known to me and is rich enough to spend whatever is required to make it like new.....I have asked him to let me have it but he doesnt want to let it go...keeps on promising that he would restore it soon....he has the magic wand (money) in his hands....I am awaiting the 'whooooosh'
