AOA, 1966 Cadillac Fleetwood may not be the right vehicle for this forum. Its a V8, complete with all the body parts and interior & exterior accessories but in pretty shabby condition. I need your opinion whether to restore the vehicle or not?

Go for it, these were some of the most graceful and elegant American cars from that era.

It will be a beauty and in my humble view a car worth the effort, has a road presence far greater than a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow.

As a car it was dwarfed only by the mighty Mercedes 600.

Some pictures of the car showing the condition would be nice.

If the mechanical bits are complete then don't worry about the bodywork, these old cars often require a lot of it to be resurrected. At least if they want to live longer than a few years.

There is just one problem. This Cadillac is a 1964 model and that trip of LBJ's which I posted the article about was in June 1961 when he was Vice-President of the USA.

this was surely not the cadillac used as like mjabbasi stated its a 64 , the caddillac in question might have been a 58 series 75 I have a pic of it some where back home there was also a picture posted on the thread many pages back

Sorry not bene able to visit the thread for a little while. Great goings on. The old Charsi denter told me about the Challenger look alike several years ago but I was so mad at him that I didnt follow his lead. He had juts lost me the Alfa Giulietta and both the Mini and Challenger were stuck with him...

Must go and see although I am in no condition to get.
The Datsun z is coming to paint finally. The usual problem with all these guys is focus... the painter told me ..day before yesterday... Oh... oh you know thse cars came for a little bit of touching and small jobs and i cant refuse... and here he was not committing me to a date again....

But OH well. the pic of the datsun with the exterior being prepped for paint.. bad camera phone... but it is coming along. A lot of parts for the ALfa GTV have been delivered to Waleeds door in Chicago and teh adjustable Konis will be on the way next week..and the front suspension is almost done with local parts. BUt the handling kit will be realy something
The 2600c was driven yesterday. needs the triple side draught solex carbs tuned a bit.

sorry to have missed your question regarding parts for 280 S. I had been away for two weeks and just checked the thread. The 280 S in the pic is being restored at a workshop nearby and the owner of teh car has bought another 280 S to source the parts. The two shops I know who carry MB parts are Shamsi and Mubarak Autos....they might have some tid bits for these cars ...
