the z had its first proper road test today.
I am afraid the 225/55 16s are too big and rub in the wheel arches and will have to be changed. The exhaust is too boomy without the centre box and a new stainless free flow will be put in today along with the centre section. The engine needs to have a heat shield between the exhaust and the intake manifold.... fuel evap problems make top end performance a bit iffy... but then this is a single carb car at the moment. The steering grates a bit and it shall be fixed today.
there are several things left in the interior. Imad had put the steering column in from a modern Sunny. Whereas it does the trick...a it isnt henuine and there is too little space left for the thighs when the steering cowling is in place. Solution get new genuine column with stalks and cowling which has been duly done via ebay and delivery made to my mother presently in Jacksonville. This will then have to wait a month or two.
Some interior and exterior issues need to be done..the expensive mirrors have to be put on... I am trying to trace console switches and a few other trim bits. The wipers need to be put on and the cowling in front of the dash.
Rustproofing of the floor needs to be done form below with setting bitumen and similar products...available here now..
