There are 2 190 SL's in Karachi, one restored one being restored. There was one in Pindi which recently got sold and has probably also landed in Karachi. I heard of one in Quetta long time ago, no clue who's got it and the current status.

Pagoda's are nice looking machines. You know of the golden one that everybody's after...Agha Hassan Abedi's car. There is another one with the removable pagoda h/top. Juicy project car.....pm me and I'll let you know who has it, you never know if the owner is in a good mood he might let it go.

@mohsinikram....sorry for replying late...its so nice of you that you offered to trace the owner of the red sunbeam for me.I have heard about a sunbeam in lahore as well which is in better condition than the red one in pindi...actually Mohsin bhai,after restoring the spitfire for such a long time,I think my restoration abilities are a bit tired now...any how thanks for your offer.

@romano....Being in lahore,dont know much about Islamabad.if that sunbeam is still there and for sale then I can come to Islamabad.I have not seen the spitfire with Isfanyar Bhandara.I think you are talking about the same spitfire mark3 which was owned by Amer Majid once along with other cars and now owned by Muddaser of Wilson Pharma..correct me if I am wrong...

There was a fiat 500 for sale in Islamabad a few years back. Is it still up for grabs? I love the pagoda SLs and that the first car I bought when I moved to US. Unfortunately, it was a rust bucket and had to sell it. The only one that was available in Pakistan was the one in Karachi.

This beautiful Daimler V8 250 has changed hands after 14 years in Akbar's ownership who had bought this car from me in 1992-3. My brother in law has just acquired it and will soon be using it regularly.

Alvis can attest to the fact that I have a soft spot for the 2.5 V8. Even though the 3.8 straight-6 is liked by most enthusiasts as a "proper" performance engine. The same engine was also used in the Daimler Dart SP250.

That Omar Laghari is certainly quite a character going around on his bike from workshop to workshop, slapping down deposits on cars he never intends on buying and then claiming they're part of his collection. Never expected such frivolous and immature behaviour from a person of his age and standing. I guess he has alot of free time and money on his hands. Besides I wouldn't call all of what he has as a 'classic car collection' as the more appropriate term for him would be a hoarder of 'junk'.

The white Chrysler is a '64 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron, originally owned by the Hysons. It was available for around 8 lacs while still in Karachi and was a very nice original car. The reason its standing in that showroom in Lahore and not for sale is probably because the car suffered a serious mechanical problem/breakdown on the motorway and as the replacement parts are not available, the owner decided to put it on static display in his showroom. At least its in a protected environment.

D's V8 250 is a sweet engine. It was designed by Edward (Ted) Turner the Chief designer of Triumph Twins, the legendry Triumph Motorcycle engines.

The OL cars that I missed!
The stepnose ALfa I have mentioned.

The Ford Thunderbird along with an old Caddy Deville were parked in the back lawn of a coleagues grandparents house.... all of 16 kanals in an area where no one ventured in Gulberg. I was offered the cars by the friend. When he checked the next day thse had been sent to the Kabaria for melting a few days before.... end of the OL thunderbird and the caddy.

He drives a W108 Merc which is under repair at the moment as its engien has been blown a few times and it has been near toltalled as well....

He sold a Datsun 260 Z to Asim Mohyuddin of the 4WD.org club who has the good sense to keep cars properly and has restored it....

My father's Mamoon had a Triumph Tiger in the late fifties / early sixties. He says it was a wonderful bike. Not too big, just right.
