Sami,

The Daimler 2 1/2 litre is no doubt a sweet engine, I think it HAD to be with a piston displacement of 315 cc approx. It has a lovely sound too.
I did mention to you that the Daimler Majestic Major used a 4 something liter V8 which was basically the same engine bored and stroked out. That was a real performer and would give any 3.8 a run for its money.

Asim has a 240 Z as well. When we last met he told me he was working on it. Hope it is back to it's former glory.
Never knew he was into off roading. Beat the hell out of him in a cycle race at school!!
Please do post some pics of the 220 SE, quite impatient to see them. Is it Black with extra chrome strips ala 300 SE on the sides??

Was'nt the Deauville the one parked at Yaqoob Motors about 10 years back??
There is another 190 SL in karachi? I am surprised. Never saw it anywhere. Do post some more info on it.

The Tiger's was a quite desirable machine in those times....still is. I have a 1938 Tiger 100 similar to the one pictured above in the brochure. Need to restore it.

the Hyesons family had a beautiful 1964 Buick Riveria. Silver colour with maroon seats. The last time I saw the car it was parked outside what was Nanking Restaurant sometime 88 or 89. That car is a real american beauty.

The Perspex roofed Daimler was at one time owned by actor Kamal and I remember seeing it at the workshop ( very famous then ) next to Irani Hotel in Saddar. the body was by Hooper.

This is the same Deauville you saw at Yaqoob Motors. Kamal's son talks about a Fiat 600 his father had and wants to buy it back....probably he didn't know about the Daimler. hehe!! I wonder what happened to the Hyesons Buick. Saeed Hai's Riviera is now with Gabol family.

those are the only cross-ply tires available in the market........radials make the steering very heavy. Akbar had tried them but opted for General tires.

There is a '65 Buick Riviera in Karachi with some guy Tariq sitting in his factory (KTL) premises but it needs engine work. The car is apparently in mint condition and still like new. The engine has the original dress-up kit with chrome valve covers, air cleaner, radiator shroud etc.

The owner also has a red Pontiac Transam 400 HO and 60's BMW 6 series. As far as I know, the cars are not for sale.

There's a guy by this name who has a BMW 3.0 CSL the only one in town. I have never met the guy but can trace him out as he gets his cars painted from a painter I know. Maybe he 's the same guy.

season starting from tomorrow.....VCCCP coming out of hibernation. Will be printing a fresh stock of t-shirts and caps and will certainly send them to you. We have some events coming up in December and January....will keep you all posted. VCCCP were called to the Governor's house 2 days ago to discuss our upcoming events and how they can help us.
