agreed. Though I had sent the write up for their publication and yet mistakes were made.....they have been notified already. The judges of the event is an impressive line up including the likes of:
Dr. Ulrich Bez who is Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Shareholder Board of Aston Martin
Andrea Zagato who is the third generation Zagato to head Coachwork Zagato since its founding in 1919
Marek Reichman who as Aston Martin’s Director of Design he has been responsible for numerous new models at Aston Martin, his most notable contributions include the DBS and Rapide. Prior to Aston Martin, Marek worked on the Rolls-Royce Phantom, the Lincoln MKX Concept and Navicross Concept Cars and the current-generation Range Rover.
and most notably Sandra Button who has played a key role in orchestrating the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance for over 25 years. After serving as the event’s first full-time Executive Director, she was named Concours Chairman in 2002.
and some others... so the event itself is quite high profile and promises to be a big success.
Here is what I had sent them to publish ........ Rolls Royce Silver Ghost 1924
" This Rolls Royce Silver Ghost by Barker was owned by HH The Nawab of Bahawalpur. The car was loaned to the government of Pakistan at the time of its independence and was put in service of the founder of Pakistan Mr. Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Mr. Jinnah and last Viceroy of India Lord Louis Mountbatten came in this car at the assembly building on 14th August 1947 where creation of Pakistan was formally announced and Mr. Jinnah took oath as the first Governor General of Pakistan.
The car was auctioned by the family of Nawab of Bahawalpur in 2003 and Karim Chhapra, its current owner was the lucky one to acquire this historical car. The car has gone through a painstaking restoration and is now a regular participant in various vintage car events in Pakistan. It has only done 7000 miles from new and is absolutely original except for a fresh coat of paint and new leather."
