Just thought I 'd let you know that my Fiat 500 is my regular transport these days. Since it gave me trouble free fun filled 2 weeks of reliable running, I have treated it with all new shock absorbers, new suspension bushes and tie rods. Once I am done with my Mustang and Healey, fiat will go to the body shop for denting and bare metal paint job.

OK Mohsin, stop grovelling and get on yr feet. I hate to see grown men blubber now make sure you give the car a nice coat of rustproof BEFORE you put any bondo on it. The tin worm loves Italian metal!
Now, brave enough to drive up to Isloo in it? That not too difficult by the way..

I think Fiat will have no problems driving upto Islamabad. I love driving it so it should be alright.

The cold weather should help the car's mechanicals for your long trip. In the summer, it would be a different matter. My father had a Fiat 600 "Sabun dani" when he started his job right after university at the CIBC (now IIBC), and I have to say it was rather "interesting". The car liked fresh coolant everyday. My father was rather smart back then, and his colleagues joked, "Of course you are so smart, you have a sauna bath every time you drive the car!". Apparently, he didn't consider it anything special, because he didn't get a photo of it. And so I can't post it...

hehe! no plans as such to drive down to Isloo under emergency situation. We are living in a crazy country where we the civilians have no fundamental rights. We had a few events planned for December and January but we have all lost interest since the imposition of 'emergency'. Might do a drive to Wahid's parrot farm off Karachi.

Dear All,

Came across this car yet again and as my digicam was at hand, so i took this pic. According to one of the "chota's" not to be confused with pegs, the engine of the car is in "chaloo" condition - i hope he was not giving me an aaloo. This pic is especially for u Mohsin as this is a LINCOLN from the late Nawab's (BWP) collection and Romano this car is eating dust in islamabad.

Great looking car. Looks very original, it even has the original number plate holder!!
Are you using halogen bulbs? if you are be careful with the three point socket, they usually burn out under the load of these new bulbs.
Is the car still on injection or has it been converted onto carbs?

@all, just saw the hulk of a Peugeot 304 convertible in G10. Next to where the Liqui Moly shop used to be. Could be an ideal project car! Turn into Bela road, take second right, pass playground and its behind the VW type 2.

great work on both the cars. fill up the hubcaps with black paint, it'll look better. But nevertheless, looks awesome.
