I finally made it onto the thread! Am posting pics of the yellow Fiat from this summer, as well as a Jaguar S-Type which was formerly owned by a relative (now with another owner) which is in Garden Town, Lahore.

Your fintail looks fantastic. Worth a trip to Lahore from Chicago to get a drive.

Yawar Bhai aka MGB63 who is also my brother-in-law besides being a car collector and enthusiast had a heart attack last Sunday. He was rushed to the hospital where he underwent emergency bypass surgery. Maashallah he is recovering though still in ICU. Please pray for his fast recovery. Yawar recently acquired a 1967 Daimler V8 250 with wire wheels.

Romano is our VCCCP man in Islamabad and if he is there VCCCP is represented. Karachi chapter has no plans to be there as imposition of 'emergency' has spoilt everybody's mood. Actually we haven't really discussed it yet. We might pop in with some cars....by road from Karachi.

thanks. I am going to the hospital now. Yawar will be shifted to the room today sometime Inshallah. Before the operation he said, " I came to get my tuning done and they are saying engine kholna parae gaa'.....

@waleed nice to have your input. Your fiat is brilliant as well as the S type.... just to let you know your Fiat was fired up last weekeend and the growl from the Fiat weber carbs was something else........

Best wishes for Yawar. I hope he gets well soon. Having been through a similar experience personally although it did not involve surgery as such I know that it is a life changing experience.

I hope though that he does not let it affect his hobbies as these are what keep one going. Work and work aint always good.

thanks for your wishes, Yawar's been shifted to the room, he was made to walk a little bit. Like a true enthusiast, when I went to the ICU this morning, despite being full of pipes everywhere, he was concerned about his Daimler as it is with the upholstery guy....

who owns that MGB GT? is it a 4 cyll. or a V8?

get a good windscreen guy - usually windscreen shops have these guys. Show him the car and he will cut-fit a matching screen from some other car. You can't make out the difference.

Chap called Omar owns the MGB. He is not interested in selling the car... I again checked today....I have tried my best over the last few years to make him part with it.

There used to be another MGB GT in LAhore with a Datsun Sunny engine..this was dove grey in clolour.

I know because it was advertised for sale in the early 80s and I asked. I wonder where it disappeared?

Greetings from Chicago, the Windy City. I spent several hours last week catching up on this post - talk about exponential growth - the thread has mushroomed in a very short time. I am amazed at the number of cars out there and wish that there was more I could do to save something from being scrapped. Unfortunately, I am not in Pakistan and must rely on friends keeping an eye out for interesting discoveries in Pakistan.

I would still be interested in a Mini (original Cooper only) but realize that Neurosurgeon probably has one of the only surviving original Coopers in Pakistan. I saw an orange Mini with MonteCarlo rally stickers and Minilites in Lahore in June but to my regret did not stop to ask about it and check whether or not it was an original Cooper. It was parked (it looked stalled) behind a flatbed tow truck in Gulberg near the Cavalry Ground bridge and the tow truck had an ivory-colored 40s vintage American sedan on it (I am useless with American cars so could not identify it). I was busy keeping my own car from stalling (long story) and hence did not stop to investigate. Both cars, the American sedan as well as the Mini probably belong to the same owner. Anyone out there know more about the car I saw?

I am attaching a couple of pictures taken last June in Karachi near Tariq Road. These appear to be 60s Impalas but I am not positive. Apologies if the photos are a re-post.
