Help Needed Guys-

I need to apply for a short term schengen visa. Can anyone confirm if I will have to purchase the tickets and hotel stay before applying for visa as I was reading in the requirements that one needs to have confirmed air tickets and hotel bookings. Can someone please help? Also, which embassy should be best for applying for the visa. I intend to visit France, Italy and Spain.

They ask for confirmed air tickets, hotel bookings directly from hotel and not from websites and medical insurance.

Just ask any travel agent for insurence and a dummy ticket and he can also provide u dummy hotel booking just in the price for insurence
Embassy accept dummy tkt and hotel booking go for german embassy they r the best till now

The expiry mentioned on UK tourist visa. Is it the last day to stay in UK or last day to enter UK and then we can stay for 6 months? quick response needed. Thanks

@s55 that's the day you should leave UK if you stay beyond the expiry date you would be in breach of immigration conditions

The validity of the visa for travel is between the two dates mentioned. The length of time for which stay is authorized will be stamped on the passport at the time of presentation at the port of entry.

What happens if you've stayed say 2 or 3 days extra and then leave by air ? Will they stop you from leaving ?

6 months or more.

They can make a fuss if its less than 6 months.

Whenever traveling abroad you should have atleast 6 months validity of passport even if they mention 3 month is OK.

no they would not stop you from leaving but that overstay would have severe implications on any applications in the future

The machine readable passport 10 year validity can be applied against urgent fee for 3 work day turnaround in UAE.

get a new passport before you start the journey. - having a visa does not mean permission to enter the country, it is discretion of immigration counter clerk to allow or deny entry without assigning any reason. in your case it may be ' Passport validity is closing in and you may get stuck in our country so please visit again with a fresh passport '

remember there are no more renewals - Now at expiry of passport you get a fresh one with old passport number mentioned on page 2 [ signature page ] old passports with valid visas are returned with an stamp - 'Passport returned with valid visa',

I think it takes at least 2 weeks to get new passport in UAE. I have no issues paying additional charges if they can give new one in 3 days but it say 10 days for urgent:
