UK visa takes time and it not guaranteed. When I first applied for UK visa I got my passport back in 18 days, second time it took them 31 days. First time I got 6 months, second time 2 years.

If it will not come back in 4 weeks and I need to travel somewhere will they give me my passport.

Im not sure about that. The complete file goes to abu-dhabi for visa processing. But im sure ull get results in 4 weeks time.

You have more chances to get visa from where you work than from Pakistan.

Good luck with ur application. Ive heard UK is very tough these days in giving visit visas. I applied back in 2014 with my wife and daughter and got 6 months entry. Dont have courage to apply again as i fear rejection! Instaed i applied for US visa this year and got 5yrs stamped

I have a query regarding obtaining US Non-Immigrant Visa from outside the Pakistan. I am doing my research work at university in Turkey on 1-year research fellowship. I have legal Turkish residence permit with me during my stay here in Ankara.

I have been selected to present my research paper in a conference to be held at USA. I want to ask is it possible to apply for US Non-immigrant Visa (B-1 visa) at US Embassy in Ankara with my Pakistani Passport and conference invitation letter? or should I have to go back to Pakistan for US visa? Moving back and forth from Pakistan will waste a lot of time for my research. Has anybody experienced this situation? Kindly guide me on this. Thanks.

Yes, I'm sure you can apply as resident of Turkey.

It depends if the visa is issued on spot or the officier puts your case in admin processing which takes long time. Typical wait times can be 20 days to 2 years or so. Visa is stamped nce clearance is received by Embassy.

I recommend you to apply in Turkey.

Guys ive a query. I applied for my daughter's b1/b2 visa on 4th apr through dropbox facility. Right after 2 days i got an email that passport has been returned and can be collected from courier. Me and my wife already have 5 yrs b1/b2 visa stamped. My question is howcome passport is returned in 2 days! Anyone faced similar situation? What was the outcome? Now i can collect the passport on monday so a bit worried!

I remember U.S. Embassy used to interview applicants in morning and ask them to collect passport at 3 PM same day with visa stamped. And for dropbox applicants 2 days was fine. Nothing to worry about.
