Hi.
I just got my car checked for an issue related to crankshaft. and that told me my car engine is almost over. so need to replace or get thr engine overhaul.
can someone recommend either to do that or buy and swap a different engine ? with good power and efficiency.?
Mention your city. Also an engine overhaul is your best option right now. Engine replacement is a hit or miss, lowers the car's value and you'll go through the hassle of updating the car's book.
1kr assembly swapmodification leads to issues which require time money and patience
1KR FE can be overhauled with oem new parts. as mentioned here under several topics. if you sahre your city name there is possibility you can have a reasonable support available nearby.
What’s the issue? If it runs fine then continue running it. If it reduces oil just keep topping up.
If not I’d go for an overhaul as swap means a used engine with no guarantee and change in registration docs.
Have to find the right overhaul guy tho.
can you recommend the best guy in Multan? i can either get the engine swapped completely or get the parts and change it.
Toyota quoted around 1.5lac for the overhaul or assembly change. also said the assembly could cost like 1lak
my car is showing a Crankshaft sensor circuit A error on engine check light. i can remove it from my obd but it keeps coming up. so i checked it from toyota. they said the engine is dead. the guy there rev my car extremely hard and the smoke came out from silencer. and it was a lot of smoke.
yes this i have known. but this current engine is very expensive. as toyota workshop said it can cost around 2.5lac and i cannot spend that much on this vibrating engine. i hate the engine btw as it vibrates a lot. if you know someone in multan i can visit and get a recommendation and cost idea. so i can get done outside toyota workshop.
I have another thought that recently i got my engine oil changed from 10w40 to 5w30 as recommended oil. everything went well no errors nothing. avg was around 14 in city. i dont do long on this car.
but my oil was so low at the end of 5000km milege oil change. so i got afraid and got it back to 10w40 and after that on i started getting this check light and also have low milege now at 11.5 km in city.
someone posted a bill1kr engine assembly for 60,000 rupanyways this thread might help for multan
@rajaatta is the expert on 1KR engines. He has sucessfully overhauled engines with oem parts for a good price. His contact information and location is on his account page. Get in contact with him.
Assembly swap in islamabad with 1 year engine oil consumption warranty along with low viscosity engine oil usage with engine mileage under 5000 kms for Toyota vitz will cost around 175 with old engine assembly including labor oils filters etc.
thank you for your reply on this. can you provide your expert opinion if i go with repalcing the engine with a different one? 2sz etc? which would you recommend. also one toyota expert said i can fit passo engine block with my own gear box setup on this same 1kr fe engine. which i dont think can be done. please provide your expert info on this.
Please mention the model of Vitz. And in 2010 before models KSP90 the 2 sz can be fitted but it's not worthy as this swap has lot of errors and electrical rectification problems occurred regularly plus the fuel economy and performance is not as like a genuine 1.3 Vitz has. So no not recomended at all. Where as 1 KR a healthy one has a d cent power and economy output if it's compatible with low viscosity oil.
Swapping a Passo 1kr is not possible in Vitz as it has a different bell housing configuration and Vitz CVT has a different configuration.
