@Storm... I might meet the owner of 1303 someday at the garage and will ask about the carb he planned for his engine. And I guess its engine got fire because the paint is burnt from the rear lid's top.
No thats not my engine, it has been cleaned and spray-painted that is why it is looking like a brand new. However the old-chap mechanic IS famous for building good engines for Beetles.
I'm also going for 1.5L with 34PICT Carb, it was reduced to 1.3 by its previous owner but I decided to install its original 1500cc which came in 1969. The Bug is having some bodywork, floors, doors etc. I will post the pics of progress.
@au... Yes it is the SVDA Distributor, its not mine but I was also interested to know from where that guy bought, it looked brand new to me. Mechanic says he brought it himself. I have a stock 009 Distributor.
