  You are right but I was expecting a quicker response from you.

  It is a 67 standard having only one horn grill opening, the other grill is there for symmetry's sake

 Your theory on the decklid was spot on. 67 decklids are one year only. Unless someone bothers to change the rear apron too, he cannot fit a 67 decklid to any other model.

 The door handle theory is not accurate though. The push round button type was introduced in May 1966, so some 66 model cars also had them. I am quite sure your 66 is a pre May 66 car! The handle was used for all the 67 models.

     The red bug is hot. If memory serves me right it is a 67 rebuilt in Peshawar by an enthusiast. At a glance one can see many juicy parts on it self imported probably.

my 1303 was built in 1973 but since it was late 73 it's chassis code is 134 (making it a 74), i got lucky since i got late model suspension due to the late production,.. earlier models had 1302 front suspension.

I got lucky that I got the dimmer switch mounted on the turn signal plus the front defroster window...

^yes you are lucky, even though i brought a whole bunch of parts for my 1303 i'm stuck without a running car due to pathetic workmanship on this car throughout it's life...

if only we were in a normal country where parts were available for such cars (and idiots realized ther are better things than shitvics and crapollas) then our beetles would be alot more fun to own. really getting tired of constantly having problems with my damn 1303 due to the abuse she took over her life!

but please note that she is still running strong, and will be when all the cars built today will be distant memories (as long as i don't kill myself in her prematurely)
