Finally my Beetle is back to its original glory atleast from the outside... thanx to Romano and Babar ustaad... Now have to get the interior done and truck art here and there plus some thing needs to be done to the bonnet so I am saving

First surface being redone and astar applied again then the final result...

All that and plus I also got touchings done so that rusty areas are covered and it looks neat now

Now for some spy shots taken near Basit denters shop. This is an open area where some of his "cold" projects are stored, the split bus being an exception.

is the one on the right a 1303 or a 1302? can't tell from this angle but it looks liek a 1303. am curious as to why it has those cutouts for the bumpers? those "things" are getting rare, i hope they will be restored soon (alnog with all the rest of the VW's there). your posts are eye candy to us (Y)

the beetle next to type 182 is a 1302 converted to 1303.. its a Abdul Basit's creation (thats what i have been told by hiz son ) wat u guys think is it a converted 1303 or not

Yes romano it is an original Cooper!! It was present for a short while at the 2009 VCCCP show and I am quite positive you had noticed it......

I had pics of the show but the card got infected by Virus/trojans and so I lost them. Let me see if I can dig one for you.........

 Thanks for correcting me! I was half asleep last night (even now.....somehow woke up early) and could not remember the story.......Basit's son is right, it is a 1302 converted to a 1303. Basit had a front cut from a 1303 since a long time which he grafted onto this car I suppose. He is even capable of fabricating the front so anything is possible.

 Yup its main Sindhi Muslim roundabout where the famous juice wallas/eateries/KFC/Eaton are located. Its easier for me to meet you there. The mech is  a nice old chap and well versed in VDubs.


You would be surprised (read shocked) to know that I would most probably get lost coming towards IMs place though he has picked me up a million times and taken me to his home/denter to supervise the resto of his 69 bug. Yes, my sense of direction is pathetic.

  The mechs name is Fredrick uncle. He does not need to learn from me!! He is an old timer old fashioned mechanic and is well versed in VW and many vintage engines. Its interesting to sit down and chat with him on various subjects.
