:0 I lost a lot of text a short while back thanks to these $*^@** KECS wallas. I feel like like shoving a crankshaft somewhere in these idiots and spinning it to high RPMs!

Aircleaner......the one on your car is indeed off a 12/1300 engine. The 1600 ones are larger, much larger. Needless to say the smaller kind would starve the 1600 of engine or choke it as you may say.

Engine oil rubber seal??? That’s the engine bay seal. Its supposed to keep out the hot air which rises up from the hot exhaust components especially and the whole engine in general. There are two kinds, one for the front (front of the car, not your engine bay when you sit with the lid popped up) and one for the rear section. Both differ in design from each other, one being double. You have the front one in the rear section. I need to check this from the Bentley manual, as you may be right and we may be wrong. Maybe, just maybe.

Oil breather line……or crankcase ventilation breather. Nothing wrong with a longer pipe, just spoils the look of an otherwise nice engine. You may shorten it by a couple of inches.

Aha!! Trouble area!!! This is the worst area to put a fuel filter. The little metal pipe on the carb top is a pressed in fit and may come loose from its seat given the weight of the longer pipe plus the fuel filter (with all the fuel in it!). So, this is a recipe for disaster! A loose fuel pipe means a potential engine fire. And do remember everyone that the
Brazil
carbs are cheaper in construction materials than the German ones so the pipes do come loose given the weight of the filter. So whats the best place to put a fuel filter????

The original setup for the vacuum pipe had a metal pipe which looped upwards. The science behind this was to not to allow condensation from petrol rich air to enter in the vacuum advance unit. Fuel degrades rubber, remember the unit has a diaphgram??? Of course the feed is from the carb venturi, so petrol rich air operates the vacuum.
A simple solution (other than trying to locate the ultra rare steel pipe) is to take a longer rubber pipe and making a loop higher than the feeding pipe to serve the same function. Thank our smart mechanic bhais for tossing out these metal pipes.
Of course anything which they think has no function is fit to toss out.

I don’t think you would have any problems using this kind of coil though I would stick to the original type.

The blade bumpers are very hard to find. Good luck.
