Just to make my point clear ..... just to make it clear when recently Storm had posted an AD for his 1303 and THING. If some one started discussing that it is not possible to spend 400 K on a Bug...or why is he selling it when he has spent so much on it and he claims to be such a big enthusiast...How would Storm feel.....

Naveed, let's keep me out of this, i had and have nothing to do with the grey bus or the yellow super, and never did i say anything bad about them or the people who own them.

As far as MY cars are concerned, i have a database (w/receipts) for every penny spent on every one of my cars starting from 1996 till today so anyone who wishes to call me on costs is welcome to try. As far as wanting to sell the 1303, i actually was offered COST from Buksh, as he knew the value of my cars but i decided not to sell it as i had invested too much time into it (money clearly wasn't an issue), i don't CLAIM to be an enthusiast, i AM an enthusiast.

i don't understand why anyone would drag my name into something which has nothing to do with me.

Born-again Herbie '66 1300 Bug in F-10: been standing here for quite a while now and it's for sale. Just outside Bank Alfalah, main markaz. Appears to be largely original and unrestored/unmolested (these are getting rare now). It's owned by the store manager at Oxford - the clothes shop. Car does need work though.

To all: on the topic of sellers' integrity, dishonesty and the ever-increasing artificially-inflated prices of VWs in (especially Northern) Pakistan, something has to be done.

i agree, i think people who claim that their cars are worth X or Y should back up their prices with reciepts. personally i've seen VW owners asking up to 4 lacs for their 1303s,... and i can say that most were not worth 20000rs!!!

however the blue super in G10 and hte white super (BR-reg) BOTH are worth at least that (in my eyes) becaus eif someoen was to build a car like that it'd cost about 3-4 lacks,.. and they are originals.

VW's are supposed to cheap cars, but due to increased car prised AND more and more VW's being destroyed daily, good cars are becoming rarer and many buyers don't know much about these cars so it's easy for sellers to raise prices.

personally i don't care if it's an early split or a 74 economy, as long as the reciepts are there and the cars condition speaks for itself,.. that's all that matters.

Here're some pics of the abandoned '65 in F-11 markaz, ISB, mentioned earlier. As you can see, it's a Euro model 65 with those rare blade bumpers...but alas, it's a bodyshell only. The chassis is now being prepared separately for some monster creation, about to be awefully butchered. The bodyshell is there for the taking (going v cheap) but what can one do with it?

It's really sad to see a car that nearly made it through 45 years on Pakistani roads...a lifetime...to end up dying like this. What can be done to save it? Any suggestions?

the pads are 45mm thick, and your car uses 40mm thick pads. however everyone fits these and gets the extra width ground off (romano just did it on his car using the same pads). these are asbestor free and have very good braking properties overall.

the oil kit idea is designed by us (VWCOP). basicly every 2nd oil change we shodul remove and clean our mesh filter (in the sump), but as usual NOBODY cleans the mesh filter so in 74 VW removed the drain nut from the sump which forced all owners to open the sump for the oil change. this would ensure that people would clean the mesh filter too. this kit is designed for people who either don't have the drain plug or have worn or damaged sumps.

the sump covers/plates are next to impossible to come by and at this price it's insanely cheap since you are getting a gaskit, drain nut, crush washer and a cover. I bought a kit as a spare.

I see that my ad for the super has created quite a few waves here. I agree with Romano's point of view and have tried to be completely honest about the super. Had bought it with the intention of having it fully restored and then use it as a daily driver but couldn't get the time to do so hence decided to put it up for sale as I donot want it to rot beyond salvage. My 77 standard Bug though remains my daily driver to date.

Money is not a consideration in the deal. Just want it to go to a loving owner. The car is open to inspection and being a vdubber for long (not as hard core as Asad, Romano or Sameer) I wouldn't want to be any less than completely honest about the bug.

Let me reiterate here that I will not sell it to anyone who is not a Bug lover to the core.

And BTW, I am NOT the one who sold the grey van!

what i don't get is i have taken your side earlier as i remember you from when you were more active on PW and when you were working on your wifes VW etc but somehow I'M the one getting flamed....

i think this confusion (if any) all arose when romano mentioned that the grey bus was a disaster and someone thought that you were the seller. obviously i use my 2 brain cells (:P) and wasn't confused, but somehow now I'M the one who inspected the grey bus (and passed it) and am calling you dishonest,... WTF???

as i can see, YOU actually read my posts and understood that i was on your side, but i urge everyone else to read ALL the posts on the last 2 pages before firing wildly in the air (and into their feet).

these parts are available in ISB at the same price as they are at moqeems shop (supplied by moqeem today) as long as they last, once they are gone, they're gone,... more will be hard to come by (specially the oil kits, even at moqeems shop)

EDIT: OK well i've decided to jump on the above offer and take on of each set for myself as i just check my inventory and need as set of pads for the rear of my 1303 AND my 182 doesn't have a drain nut provision (post 74 model VW engines don't have drain nuts so this is an ideal upgrade). 650rs VERY well spent i think:) SO there is one of each set left,... first to pay gets them.

All Oil kits are gone, one brake pad set is also gone, so all i have left is a spare set of brake pads (45mm),... anyone interested can contact me.

Hey Hey Storm I can only say that I understood what u meant in your posts and what I said was as an example not that I thought that way. I said twice that just "to make my point clear" about vdubber feeling bad with all this discussion....

I think further explanations might confuse things more. So let's end it here. I have no doubt that your cars must have cost you a Lot. I have some idea that VW stuff sourced from outside Pakistan are really expensive. Peace.
