well i didnt think there were any but i did get to know abt one . but sadly its no longer with us anymore
a few weeks ago i had recieved a phone call that some yard ppl had chopped of a splity so i told the guy pick up what u can.

so NUIC went to the guy picked a boot lid ,dash board ,doors , bumpers . engine , gear , suspension parts , stearing wheel, column etc

now for the worst part.

after paying him i asked him if they had anything elsetht he didnt pick up

the guy goes: UMMMM YEAH IT HAD A RAG TOP
NUIC: RAGTOP WHAT THE HELL Y DIDNT U GET THT
GUY: I THOUGHT U DIDNT NEED IT
NUIC: WAHHHHH I TOLD U PICK UP WHAT EVER HE HAS

NUIC : then gets the number and rushes to the person with stuff loaded in his hilux

i get to the yard
and the guy tells me the car was scrapped 5 days agoo

a very rare car in mint condition gone

any how i did find the rims and the ragtop:)
but not the channels:(

so this is the sad story of probably the only ragtop splity there was in PAKISTAN
but i was still fortunate enough to get some of her. but not fortunate enough to save her

Did you say 'Split window ragtop'? This is most probably the worse nightmare a VW enthusiast can ever have.

@nuic Nadir brother that was not a split window Ragtop wali Beetle, that was a volkswagen van in split screen with original ragtop. I think only one in Pakistan but unfortunately.....

@ NUIC - really, really sad to hear that. Unbelievable. Here we are looking all over the damn country for rarities and one gets scrapped under your nose. Sh**. Butchered ISB Split Bus Ragtop probably ranks alongside butchered Porsche 356 in Karachi (2000/1) and scrapped 56-57 Oval Bug in Lahore (2002) as one of the worst attrocities on the aircooled scene in recent years.

Where was this bus, and with who? Pics of remains would be good.

@Mahmood : yes, seen your ex 67 Bug around quite a lot, including outside University College of Islamabad, where I'm a law lecturer. Saw it the other day complete with the ugly 'Pizza LaVia' stickers. What a waste. Should have kept it, at least it would have gotten some respect!

Really nice, original-looking '62 Bug in what looks like a faded lime/beryl green colour. Apparently owned by a Brigadier.

Treasure trove...or one massive pile of assorted VW debris. Either way, the original engine block for my 63 Bug is somewhere at the bottom of it! I really need to retrieve that and soon. :-#

Can anyone please identify the metallic frog green car in the photo? For the life of me, I can't seem to make it out? Is it a 1303? What the hell is it?!

why u need that engine block now? is'nt ur new bug in running conditions or is there some qanooni masla?
and i was out to blue area for some office work and found my bug parked at the very same place, well i now have mixed feelings for her or rather more on sorrow side, and when was just dialing the fone number of pizza la'Via someone shouted my name from roof top of plaza and it was both guys i mentioned earlier, and showed me around the car, interior have been made and according to em once all done will then be doing denting and painting, lets hope they stick to their words,

and yes only if my garage allowed me two more feet in length, never've sold her, when both of em were appoaching me looking at condition of the machine before anything i asked them in how much you will sell her back to me and they said no.

I have a pair of original '71+ front fender indicators they are a complete pair. Top metal cover, Lens, Bulb's, Rubber gasket and reflectors. They are in perfect working order, the metal covers do need buffing though, asking 1,800/= for the pair.
