Just finished rebuilding this pair of headlights!! Not at all an easy job as collecting the correct parts for a *matching* pair, complete in all respects down to a working-like-original beam adjuster is the tricky bit.
Results are spectacular!!
If anyone is rebuilding their headlights, you know where to ask for assistance now!
The back side of the reflectors and the chrome ring were first hand brush painted with red oxide primer and then a couple of coats of gray enamel paint to seal the surface. Idea is not to produce something show quality but to keep rust at bay. The Brazilian headlight rings do not have very good quality chrome and can rust like anything if left unpolished and unwaxed. Ive seen bad rust taking hold of the back surfaces while you are busy keeping the top clean. Double protection this way hopefully :)
