This very Micro isn't "properly" restored. If it would have been, I probably would have bought it the moment I had known about it being sold.
About properly restored THINGs/MICROs, I dont think there are any save @Storm's THING. There are a couple of good campers though which I believe are still original and are not restored as yet. One such is in Islamabad and another I know of is in Peshawar.
Proper restoration is more than just the paint and the upholestry. A proper restoration essentially has to has year correct parts and other details.
About properly restored Beetles, there are as many as a dozen or may be more. Naming a few @nmshaikh's trio, @Storm's Super, Romano's Economy etc. Patina is soon to join the group Insha-Allah. And trust me you would know what a proper restoration is when it goes there.
About the price difference, I dont think there has been a history for a comparison. But I can assure you that properly restored Beetles are something you dont even want to bid at because they rather would be costlier than the collective price of half a dozen "so called" restored bugs.
To me, a proper 62-67 bug restoration costs around 500K to 600K including the car price (Don't ask me how I know:| ). The number would be even higher for pre-62 cars and would be lower for post 67 cars.
