I didn't quite understand what you mean exactly by that. But if you are suggesting that the interior plastic quality might be cheap, its already getting reviews as the best built (both interior and exterior) car among all the hatchbacks sold in India. I have seen an Overdrive show where the reviewer (who has also reviewed the european Polo) said that the build quality is easily on par with the european version.
I quite like the way VW offered a clearly superior car in the price range of Jap, Korean and Indian hatcbacks. They cleverly cut costs by omitting luxury features (not significant for the Indian market in the hatchback segment) like climate control, sunroof, electric seat adjusts, electric ORVM controls, DSG autobox (though I think they might offer it later this year), steering button controls, leather upholstery, simple head and tail lamp clusters (as compared to european version) etc. While they made sure that the essential qualities like overall dynamics, build quality (where German engineering really matters) and safety features like ABS and airbags are retained. This speaks a lot about the intensions of VW and how bullish they are on the Indian market. I think the dominance of Maruthi is going to be tested very seriously in the coming future by the likes of GM and VW (remember how the Chevrolet Beat hit 10000 bookings within just 24 days of launch) with their current head-on collision attitude.
I sincerely hope this slap-on-the-cheek from GM and VW will bring Maruthi back to its senses and take the customer more seriously putting an end to those ridiculous 3-6 month waiting periods for their (though reasonably priced) products.
