Well they have got advanced radio devices, unfortunately may be paki planes aint epuipped with it, good to hear u could catch them, but i advise dont do this cuz ur interference could lead a tragic accident.
See NAT Geo AIRPLANE crashes....1 reason is the interference with their radios when they are landing or takng off...and i guess u live near to an airport

I am from Communication field. It is very strange phenomenon which u r telling but there is possibility due to side bands of frequency. For example if a transmitter is operating at 200 MHZ, when it emit 200 MHz , its sideband can be listened at 170 or 150 MHZ. u can say that it is frequency spill overs. U r not doing any thing illegal as far as u r not transmitting on this frequency. To listen, there is no restriction. Anyhow, if possible u should inform KARACHI ATC abt it. They might look into their Radio R/T which is used for transmission and reception. Hope it helped u.

In western world this is a full time hobby of millions of enthusiats. Thousands of people keep listening to the conversation between ATC and the pilots sitting near the airports. Nothing at all illegal. In fact there is a special channel for ammature enthusiasts with allocated frequency like the CB (citizen's band) radio.

There are special communication scanners for the purpose, available over the counter. Singapore is the best place to buy. I will ask someone to arrange for me. Meanwhile I am surfing the net.

hello guys..my dad is a pilot.he flies boeing 777...il tell you wat to do..listen to live feeds on www.liveatc.net...type in the airport code and start listening..enjoy and forget about the frequencies

a radio mite catch the signals frm an aircraft..every aircraft has a radar on its nose..when flying low say arn 3000m high the radios will catch the signals at a specific frequency..iterference is the reason...

ooo bhai jo bhee ho khuda k liyay reham karo...koi childish herkat mat ker baithna......i from karachi atc but right now m in uk...u can see my pic as a tower controller...thats enough proof for ethentication...aap nay jo frequencies batai haian wo almost sahi hay but dont use this frequency ever....dont ask why???

i wana listen live entertainment about atc just adjust 121.5 its karachi airside frequency......

all the vhf sets have 2 bands AM/FM.....(these are being used by the civilian aircraft)

it possible to catch the random frequencies ...this is also experienced by us while flying as well...we sometimes used to catch even the transmission of mobile phones or vfones etc,....and this used to jam our normal communication

...but this all is zone specific...
its normal to intercept such kind of transmission....

but it is difficult to intercept the transmission of military aircraft since they operate on UHF frequencies and they are a bit secure....

rest vhf sets are available in the market, like Motorola sets being used by police and rangers ...
these can also tune in all the vhf frequencies....

even if you happen to live very close to ATC tower some times the tx (transmission) can be heard on different channels of your TV set...
