Want to know the charges as a friend was buying a NCP car but I convinced him not to do so.

and is the owner allowed to take part in the auction of his to bid? what happens after the auction; cleared for registration?

yes the owner can take part in the auction too and the highest bidder gets to take the car along and is cleared for registration

The vehicle gets snatched away. Too risky to buy a NCP vehicle. No peace of mind. Later on, if the vehicle gets caught; auctions later on. Highest bidder gets the vehicle.

NCP vehicle will simply by impounded by the state and will be gone forever.

every time it is impounded and released after 'gratification' value will be 5 time actual price of duty paid vehicle in under a year. Heavier the weight (shashka) of user higher the price and delay in release - you are true friend advising not to risk

Yes dear capsat i asked him why you wan't to waste your money on something which you cannot claim as yours someday or the other it is going to be caught someone whether in jealousy or whatever reasons is going to complain and you are done and dusted. Whereas he is reluctant to buy a range rover sport which he says is going to be just in his house car porch as a show piece and wont be brought on the road.

Car is impounded and auctioned, true. Highest bidder gets the car. True.

The only catch is, earlier on you were allowed to go away without any charges against you.

Ab aik adad parcha hota hy aap p. I mean an FIR.
It is bail able but still you gotta hire a lawyer.

There are plenty of such cars in every city. Those who know how to keep such vehicles still own them without hesitation

My personal opinion is that keeping a NCP vehicle is a fraud to the State and should be charged for fraud and Tax evasion.

If one keeps an NCP vehicle it is like committing a crime, one day it will be impounded by the state, snatched away, an FIR will be registered against you which will say that you have committed a crime, calling you a criminal. If your ethics and morals allow you to be called a criminal, go ahead and commit the crime of keeping an NCP vehicle. I won't take such chances. Aik din garee bhee chalee jayay gee aur izzat bhee aur aik cycle walla mujh pay hass raha ho ga aur kahay ga k sahib key Land Cruise say mairee cycle hee acchee hay, kum azz kum izzat say tau chalaata hoon. Sahib key Land Cruiser police walay pakar kar lay gayay, kiya izzat reh gayee sahib key? Ab Sahib zamanat pay rehay hain aur wakeel key fees day kar thanay aur kachehree main khawaar ho rahay hain.

you did not get my point. all those people who buy NCP vehicles know it good that they are illegal and buy knowing it. mostly they are politicians and landlords with high approach. common man should stay away from this
