Buying a new car has become a painful experience here, just like in the West!. Too many choices, options, competiton in financing(one is barraged with calls from lending insititutions to take their offer) and dealing with dealers too!. Still, better than none and as i gripe i also appreciate the competition. Life is tough.

I give it to Ford for creating a buzz in the economy segment which is all drab and grey, but my choice is a black dash. As for Proton, well, you're close!.lol. However, in states like TN and Kerala where there are strong links with Malaysia, the marque will find buyers and that's what they're banking on. Proton will be based out of Chennai.

Volkswagen introduces Passat TSI, brings in 2L diesel Jetta

Volkswagen, Europe’s largest car maker announced the launch of the Passat TSI and Jetta common rail diesel engine today.
The Passat 1.8 L TSI is priced at Rs 19.20 lakhs, ex showroom New Delhi. The Jetta 2.0 L diesel Comfortline is priced at Rs. 15.92 lakhs. ex showroom, New Delhi.
The Passat will now come with TSI petrol engine. The engine from Volkswagen is known for maximum power with minimum fuel consumption, a company release said.
TSI engines are compact, high-powered and use less fuel thereby, offering an enjoyable and involving drive, while cutting fuel consumption and Co2 emissions, the release said
"The Passat TSI and Jetta common rail diesel engines are so well refined that not only will they provide superior driving experience but also decrease fuel consumption and lower emissions," Member of Board and Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India, Neeraj Garg, said.
